From what I've seen a lot of he over 70s are fitter then the younger ones. How often have full leagues been cancelled for weeks?

What difference does that make ?That's still 35 years ago.

I was thinking that as well. Some bloke from Accrington Stanley is calling for a complete pause. I wonder how many injuries they have? The worse for us would be be any delay - time would give injured players the chance to recover - must win game against the Shrews - need to be as far up the table before any major decision is taken
So basically this hasn't happen before in the modern era of football.

They would have to win by a big margin to make any difference. But if you did that right now, Pete, that would be totally unfair on Pompey

Played one game less than Oxford in third. Just one single point behind

Different pitches, no under-soil heating and no love TV rights or the same money in the game. Many times, way back in the 60s the football program was halted for weeks because of snow and ice I think our third round. cup-tie v Lincoln was a record for postponed matches and we played the the fourth, fifth and sixth round games in a month, and the fourth round match v Pompey went to three games.
Of course if there is a total national lock down and people movement affected that’s possibly a different issue.
But if the worst scenario was to happen and the football season was unable to finish, it won’t, the final league positions would be down to points per ratio of games and we would be top.
Fans will get a feel for what it is like for the stay away group.Think Shrewsbury will be the last game, for a few months, we attend. By the weekend we play Lincoln I expect games will be behind closed doors. And a week or two after that a suspension of games for a month

Whole different ball game.
It was regular in times gone by hasn’t happened for a while, global warming perhaps, but could any winter in fact perhaps we are overdue one.
Just this scaremongering on here about season not finishing is laughable to be honest.
Everyone seems to love their owner. I really don't.I think their Top Scorer (Bishop) is coming back from injury.
Unsure if it's been shared, but EFL admitted in Gov meeting yesterday that they don't have the insurance that would cover clubs' loss of funds from going behind closed doors.
Would be absolutely brutal for the small clubs that rely on gate receipts and refreshment sales to keep the cashflow up over the summer.

Where???The Forest owner has announced he's got coronavirus. He was at their game on Friday vs Millwall and met the clubs players and staff, as well as taking selfies with fans outside the ground.
why bail any of them out? The powers that be would be daft to. They never have and should not start now regardless of the outcome.
Announced it on his IG. Selfie with a fan here (one of many):Where???
Do basically you are ok with clubs going to the wallwhy bail any of them out? The powers that be would be daft to. They never have and should not start now regardless of the outcome.
And this is how it starts in the football world. You have to think now that Forest are going to be candidates for self-isolation if they all met the owner recently. And if one team can’t play, what then? It’s just a matter of time before players and club staff start testing positive. If that happens they’ll have to call the season off, surely?
What a dickhead take. I assume if city goes to the wall he'd be alright with that.
They would have to temporarily suspend it and then hope in a couple of weeks it has all settled down. And this is how it starts in the football world. I’m really not sure how you can ‘pause’ an entire league for weeks or months and still hope to play the games.
It has to be PPG. Only fair(ish) way.
