And this is how it starts in the football world. You have to think now that Forest are going to be candidates for self-isolation if they all met the owner recently. And if one team can’t play, what then? It’s just a matter of time before players and club staff start testing positive. If that happens they’ll have to call the season off, surely?
I’m really not sure how you can ‘pause’ an entire league for weeks or months and still hope to play the games.
It has to be PPG. Only fair(ish) way.
They would have to temporarily suspend it and then hope in a couple of weeks it has all settled down.
I would think they would do it for two weeks and then review. They wouldn't just call the season off.
I would bet there are a fair few staff / players with it at the minute who think it is just a cold.

Exactly. I think that is what they would do though. It isn't going to be cured in 2 weeks though.
Don't panic. It was confirmed as merely Spanish Flu.Wasn’t Walsh ill last week Robins said? Made me wonder.
Probably not but it’s just been said on tv that in China the virus has reduced significantly and there were more cases yesterday in Britain than China so looks like something has workedIt isn't going to be cured in 2 weeks though.
I'm not at my age you cant be pickyDont be homophobic

With a name like that, you do realise Sunderland are going to blame us for all this don't you.Thats the thing, people could of already had it and fully recovered without even knowing it was Covid
For football to be cancelled

Someone at my wife's work has been tested. Haven't heard anything yet!Yeah he said there was a couple of illnesses. To a pro sportsman they might be fit and healthy enough to pass it off as a bit of a cold.
They couldn't just cancel a season and be done with it, too many financial implications.
Teams like us for example would want to be granted promotion where as teams like villa would argue they could stay up.
Nobody will take it very well if they just scrap it and start again next season
Just tell me where you sit, so..Someone at my wife's work has been tested. Haven't heard anything yet!
My wife was in a meeting for 4 hours with her on Friday, if she has it so could my wife and so could I.
I am going to the game on saturday!

Can you let me know your seat number, row and block so I can get my missus the seat next to you.Someone at my wife's work has been tested. Haven't heard anything yet!

I'd suggest all games not played are draws. Point each.Well, yup, that would kind of make sense in one respect, but it wouldn't quite work if they did stop the season now for instance.
Fleetwood are on the same points as Sunderland, but have played a game less. There is always going to be that headache isn't there.
If all teams have all played exactly the same amount of games there could be an argument to end the season, but it's never the case is it.
I know we say it mostly in jest, but I don't think you can just end the season early.
Behind closed doors seems to be the only feasible option.
Suspension doesn't seem fair, nor does cessation. Behind closed doors is not fair on the fans, but would probably work as the best solution.
They allowed a flight full of people from Milan that landed after they had announced the first lock down in Lombardy to waltz straight through without any checksThey've been incredibly meticulous with regards checks and containment, people entering the country have been rigorously screened whereas here there were tweets from people sauntering through the airport after flying back from Italy as if nothing's happened.

It really does not though. When this thread was first started, I definitely thought it was a bit farfetched. As time has gone on (and not much of it), it's looking increasingly like it holds weight.
This joke’s a tragedy!1BREAKING NEWS ...
John Travolta was hospitalized for suspected COVID-19, but doctors now confirm that it was only Saturday Night Fever, and they assure everyone that he is Staying Alive.
He had chills that were multiplying.
It has to get to a level that justifies it. With no vaccine the most sensible option is to contain for as long as possinlevthen delay the epidemic until the warmer months when the flu virus is normally weaker and doesn't live as long.It feels like a Petri dish,it has to get to a certain level before we pull the big levers .
Wingy my friend in the last 3 years an average of 15000 people per year have died in this country from influenza are you really suggesting that 150000 are likely to die from Coronavirus? For a religious man you're showing a juvenile attitude to this matter.
At the Very minimum this is ten times more lethal than regular influenza.
Show some societal responsibility to others.
Oh, no, not Brexit again!!It feels like a Petri dish,it has to get to a certain level before we pull the big levers .
