Depends who those people were going to vote for. There have been some claims, although we may well be in tin foil hat territory, that Republican and swing states are receiving a much greater percentage of requested emergency medical supplies than democrat states. But surely if 100s of thousands die that hurts him
Over here shops that sell more than just food i.e. clothes, kitchen appliances etc have to close all areas off apart from food ones. Not allowed to sell anything other than food and if caught they will be closed down and heavily fined.Just thinking about the likes of Asda and Tesco and their larger stores they have
If all clothes and electrical shops and the likes of Primark, John Lewis and Debenhams are closed, isn't that just going to get people going to Asda and Tesco for clothing and electrical goods as well as for food?
Couldn't our supermarkets get even busier now if there are no delivery slots available for three weeks and there are no competitors for their non-food stuff?
It's the swing voters he needs though so it makes no sense for him to put the markets over human livesDepends who those people were going to vote for. Not sure I believe that, frankly I don't think he's clever enough for that.
Think its more a case of him being his usual self and bluffing his way through it saying what he thinks people want to hear and will make him popular. Not sure he can keep bluffing until the November election.
Yeah you'd expect soBut surely the average voter would be more swayed by people not dying
I'm in IT as well and it seems very vague. Our clients include healthcare providers and food manufacturers which would be classed as essential. But does it really then follow that the whole company is required. How essential is it to have sales in for example?I mean. I work in the pharmaceutical industry (in IT) and I’ve been classed as a key worker, but work is work. And arguably no job is pointless. I couldn’t give a shit what industry I work in.
The stand off in Congress is astoundingPretty much 10000 new cases in US. The numbers will be huge. 5 times more people than Italy
If your washing machine breaks or kettle or being stuck in with no tele would be hell.Over here shops that sell more than just food i.e. clothes, kitchen appliances etc have to close all areas off apart from food ones. I'm not sure if we're key or not as we supply supermarkets wity back of house stuff, but if we are, is our supply chain of metalworkers etc also key as we can't supply without them and where does it end as they'll require their suppliers etc
Oh yeah realise that ta and mine can be at home, but just not sure if and when that changes which side of the line our business and supply chain falls. Very much a choice still atm. There is no mention of 'key' workers, the only stipulation is whether your job can be done from home.
If it can, then work from home. If it can't, then you are free to travel to work.
Are Amazon still delivering?
Think so. In Spain and France I think they’ve stopped “non-essential” deliveries. Whatever that means.

Fortunately I can work entirely from home as we've been told there will be no site visits unless absolutely essential but if my employer had a different mindset they could quite easily be calling everyone into the office and sending people to site.
Think there needs to be the threat of big fines for companies taking the piss.
They have allowed a couple of places to open for this reason (about 4 on the island) but you have to show a purchase receipt if stopped to prove purchase of item.If your washing machine breaks or kettle or being stuck in with no tele would be hell.
Really?Someone in the US has died after taking that drug to try and cure their Covid infection.
I hope so, my friend has one on order...Does a Fleshlight count?
Asking for a friend.
The stand off in Congress is astounding
Edit, its all gone off here and needless to say we've walked out.
If it stops “your friend” from reproducing, Then yes.Does a Fleshlight count?
Asking for a friend.
Them and folk on zero hours contracts need to be helped
When a man is witnessing huge swathes of his people being struck down and dying, and seems indifferent & only focusing on money & his own standing, you have to get close to assuming he is genuinely a psychopath.
Really?
Yep guy died and wife hospitalised. Took aquarium cleaner or something, same drug Trumps been on about.
Fuck me. Missus has just seen a warning posted in an NHS FB group that people are being mugged for their NHS badges. Hope it’s FB bollocks, but nothing would surprise me.

Trying to help my folks out and it appears to be completely impossible to get groceries delivered to the LE9 postcode, although Asda seems to have crashed altogether. Not sure what to do, I have sent calpol, sanitiser and paracetamol over already but not sure a load of milk and beef would make it through
Morrison's were on about running a phone in service .Trying to help my folks out and it appears to be completely impossible to get groceries delivered to the LE9 postcode, although Asda seems to have crashed altogether. Everything's booked up from farm shops and veg boxes to Amazon Prime, Tesco to Milk and More that I can see. Have you looked on her local FB group? There might be someone who can drop some shopping round if you can get cash to them or click and collect. I know there’s loads of semi official groups popping up that seem trustworthy.
Morrison's were on about running a phone in service .
They were putting together boxes of basics as well
I don't know if they're connected or click collect only .
That seems to be the case at Sainsbury's ,my brother has done that twice now on a Sunday over at King's Norton ,gives them a weeks notice and gets most of what he asks for .
Do Uber operate anything?
Coronavirus: Morrisons ramps up delivery service to cope with demandMorrison’s were completely down when I looked but I don’t know if that was demand- I guess so though. Looks like Facebook groups might be the immediate solution (which is a nice change as usually I did FB to be full of psychos), and I will try Morrison’s soon as they are up- thank you for that, I appreciate it. Sainsburys aren’t taking new registrations at this point, I guess they’re freaking under the demand.
not looking forward to when this all inevitably hits over here...
I thought this had been debunked already and is about a year old and the woman is having lung problems from smoking.
