He's one of the smartest thinkers we've had IMO. Still is !Yup, it's where the priorities are / were. Increase in basics too such as rural bus services, which had been cut to the bone, and services such as museums opened up and democratised.
Many things I'd have done differently, but Blair is the interesting case. Am more aligned to the left of Blair, but give me a choice of then or now and it's a no-brainer. There was even the reintroduction of the idea of society and looking out for one another, rather than the insular inward looking governments before or since.
Anyway, lovely morning, so I must do my daily walking allowance!
Sorry to hear about not being able to see your kids, have you set facetime and everything up at least?Lads. In the nicest possible way shut the fuck up with point scoring and political arguing. It doesn't get us anywhere.
We're in the midst of an event that is horrendous, lives being lost the world over. And we've got people on here banging on about brown, blair, Cameron.
Its fucking boring and getting peoples backs up at a time when we're on a national lockdown doesn't do anyone any favours does it.
Why don't we keep this purely about coronavirus, the stats, the potential vaccine, the death rate, the peak, you know, what it was actually created for.
Sorry for the rant, but i found out today i won't be seeing my kids for 2 weeks as there mum has symptoms and obviously the self isolation comes into play.
Seeing grown men then bitching like little girls about whos at fault for the NHS being in the shit after receiving that news really grates.
PUSB anyway
The crash was a world recession though and not totally of Labour’s making although the continuing loosening controls of banks and bankers in the U.K. under Labour certainly didn’t help. The crash was ultimately caused by the Americas toxic mortgage crisis. Also a lesson to any moron (not you) salivating at the thought of the EU crashing as a Brexit win. If one sector of the US economy can drag the world into a recession ask yourself how many times worse would it be if a whole continent goes wrong.Yes it did. But the crash when Labour were in charge had a big say in it. Labour took over at a best time for generations.
Ha ha ha ha ha. Irony. Ha ha.you try and pigeon hole people and use juvenile arguments
yes, you are right- my point was always that the made up science was wrong, and that’s Vallance and Cummings. The buck stops with Boris though, and to say that he was unable to oppose it is a bit silly.
And those that maintained it recovered far quicker. The Tories backed all the Labour spending plans under Osborne. The “Labour spent too much” was pure politics. Our response to 2008 was exemplary and it shows when you compare how other countries see Brown to how we do.
For you...? Fair enough.Lads. In the nicest possible way shut the fuck up with point scoring and political arguing. It doesn't get us anywhere.

I guess it depends on how his own party views him and those around him .I've never said he was unable to oppose. But realistically a prime minister ought to have an element of faith in his Chief Advisor and Chief Scientific Advisor otherwise why are they in the positions that they're in? Perhaps the fault of Boris was placing too much faith into his advisors and failing to act on his own personal initiative, consider public opinion and study the strategy of other countries in greater depth.
Boris has to take an element of the blame as it's part and parcel of the position he's in. But to suggest it's solely his fault is unfounded and just serves to highlight Anti-Tory rhetoric.
I requested, and was denied unpaid leave yesterday. This is the letter they will receive from me shortly. (If they fire me, I already have evidence of the lack of protective equipment and disregard for social distancing enforcement.)
‘As you know I’m recovering from a recent prolonged bout of flu, a subsequent infection that required antibiotics and a cold that followed due to my weakened immune system.
As a result of this and the extraordinarily dangerous nature of the Coronavirus I have decided to self isolate for 2 weeks to protect myself and my family. I am doing this voluntarily, and as such, don’t expect to be paid during this time and am happy to write a check for my insurance deductions.
I kindly ask that you are understanding of my situation in these unprecedented times and grant me two weeks unpaid leave, allowing me to return to work after this period of time.’
David Ornstein has written an article in The Athletic suggesting that here's a growing appetite for the Premier League season to be voided on "moral grounds". Wankers
So Trump places little faith in his advisers, Boris too much? Goldilocks anyone?I've never said he was unable to oppose. But realistically a prime minister ought to have an element of faith in his Chief Advisor and Chief Scientific Advisor otherwise why are they in the positions that they're in? Perhaps the fault of Boris was placing too much faith into his advisors and failing to act on his own personal initiative, considering public opinion more seriously and turning his nose up at the science of other countries studying their prevention strategies in greater depth.

I would laugh if Liverpool missed out on the title, mind.David Ornstein has written an article in The Athletic suggesting that here's a growing appetite for the Premier League season to be voided on "moral grounds". Wankers
so what you’re saying is that had we finished 23rd this season and got relegated, and made huge mistakes that everyone could see, it would be the fault of the backroom staff.
I think you need to get your head out of your arse, pal. Not interested in politics, but call a spade a spade, this man is responsible for mistakes that have and will continue to cost lives.
I would laugh if Liverpool missed out on the title, mind.

Expect Hancock to get thrown under the bus , he's been mendacious at best.
My head is up my own arse? Bit rich coming from you...
So Trump places little faith in his advisers, Boris too much? Goldilocks anyone?
so had we got relegated, would the buck stop with Robins or the backroom staff?
Sorry to hear about not being able to see your kids, have you set facetime and everything up at least?
No and neither have I said that.
My pal is from cov mate he’s flying back tomorrow
Well you know the story of goldilocks, one was too hot, one was too cold and one was just right. What are you on about now
Including myself trying to get back to the U.K.think there's a lot of repatriation going on both back in to the UK and foreign nationals leaving to go home. Was listening to the story of the couple stranded in Peru with the poorly child and the efforts to get them back. I'd imagine there's similar going on with a lot of countries.
Including myself trying to get back to the U.K.
Another mate is on his way back from Bali it’s bonkerswas a lot of negotiation went on to organise a couple of planes going in either direction bringing UK nationals home from Peru and Peruvians making the opposite journey.
I'd imagine there are far more UK nationals in Saudi so would have thought it would have been a bit easier to get back but obviously that's not the case.
Sorry mate a friend is in a similar position and it’s heartbreakingLads. In the nicest possible way shut the fuck up with point scoring and political arguing. It doesn't get us anywhere.

Repatriation of citizens changes with situations and countries. I could get to France as I could prove I live there. But I would be fooked if I tried to get back to England although I also live here. Had a hard enough time getting back to England last time and that was before any borders were closed. Even got quizzed on why I live in Cumbria if I was born in Coventry. Took my passport and dissapear for about 20 minutes. Came back then let me go.
Seems like they are making the rules up as they go along. If travelling anywhere all you can do is hope for the best.

There have no flights in or out for the past 10 days from any country. The country is on a serious lockdown and is scheduled to last another eleven days.was a lot of negotiation went on to organise a couple of planes going in either direction bringing UK nationals home from Peru and Peruvians making the opposite journey.
I'd imagine there are far more UK nationals in Saudi so would have thought it would have been a bit easier to get back but obviously that's not the case.
