That may be so, i was using the article to show that things won't be back to normal in a fortnightBut if you'd actually watched the press briefing yesterday she clarified she meant it could 3 to 6 months before we know if the restrictions worked as they hoped.
Piss poor article that only takes half of what she said.

Big 2 weeks ahead then before the peak! We can beat this
However, he said that if the number of infections started to drop, then in the next few weeks the "hope" was that the number of hospitalisations would also begin to fall.
He said: "The good news here is that that line is not going up very steeply but we are not out of the woods. We need to keep our foot on the pedal."

NHS England medical director Professor Stephen Powis says the next week or two will be "critical"

Gove: There are some signs we may be able to flatten spread of coronavirus, but now is not the time to relax social distancing rules
Although this isn't the time for it it does seem like Johnson/Tories once again lucked out having the election just before this blew up in their face because they've got five years for this to be done and people to forget about it before they have to be answerable for it.
Had we got an election coming up at the time of the US elections for example you do wonder if the outcome may have been different as the value of the NHS and public services is really coming into the spotlight. Even some of the more radical stuff from Labour is becoming a distinct possibility in this crisis.
But that's for later.
I guess he means in regards to sticking to the social distancing because the peak is coming and we don't want the NHS being overrun?"The next two weeks will be critical"
Every fucking day has been critical, what is that supposed to mean?
I guess he means in regards to sticking to the social distancing because the peak is coming and we don't want the NHS being overrun?
And if you point it out you get told that you hate the country and that its much worse in other countries.
Facts are facts- the way this was handled all the way through must go down as the most catastrophic mismanagement seen in the country for many decades. From being briefed in advance and ignoring, herd immunity, the multiple U turns, the farcical mishandling of communication on what to do, failing to test, failing to equip the health workers, it has been a total disgrace from the start, and its still a disgrace.
... tick, tock...

Others countries in regards to testing basic PPE etc there is no excuse for it we haven’t made the NHS a priority for years now look. How far behind what?
They need removingThis government is a shambolic disgrace, anyone who things these lot are competent is off their head.
Public Health England today expended testing capacity from 1 to 12 dedicated laboratories. So thats good news. Then you look at some other countries.. Germany has 174, South Korea has 96.
Its hard to not believe there may be an element of truth to this, we can't be this stupid, inept and incompetent can we?
False outrage as usual. I get the feeling you're actually enjoying this. And if you point it out you get told that you hate the country and that its much worse in other countries.

Bit of an exaggeration ROS and a bit early to make sweeping statements
I’m not saying I disagree with some of the points you make and you might end up being proved right, but we won’t know for several weeks and months how the government has handled this overall (in particular in comparison with other countries)
This government? You dont even live here. It just fits your agenda. This government is a shambolic disgrace, anyone who things these lot are competent is off their head.
Would you rather live in Italy? Oh wait...This government is a shambolic disgrace, anyone who things these lot are competent is off their head.
What's the alternative? The loony left labour party? Fucking hell yes the Tories arent the best Corbyn and co would be a fucking disaster. They need removing
Yep, what's going to do for me is the heart attack from worrying about it if I'm not careful (decided not to check this thread, foolishly broke it, relieved to at least have your post as the one it sent me to first! I can deal in reality, not in fear, panic and worry)
What's the alternative? The loony left labour party? Fucking hell yes the Tories arent the best Corbyn and co would be a fucking disaster.
The NHS is struggling as for years Tories have not now made it a priority I’m not shocked it’s on it’s knees with 10 years of toriesWhat's the alternative? The loony left labour party? Fucking hell yes the Tories arent the best Corbyn and co would be a fucking disaster.
Yes the stock response- "its not the right time to talk about this now."
Having seen the blue lagoon in Buxton, I must admit that I am jealous.Would you rather live in Italy? Oh wait...
Point proven, thanks. This government? You dont even live here. It just fits your agenda.
Looking likely that there will be over a million cases very soon.
The way this thing spreads is incredible:
70 days taken to get from 0 to 100,000 cases
12 days taken to get from 100,001 to 200,000 cases
3 days taken to get from 200,001 to 300,000 cases
2 days taken to get from 300,001 to 400,000 cases
2 days taken to get from 400,001 to 500,000 cases
2 days taken to get from 500,001 to 600,000 cases
1 day taken to get from 600,001 to 700,000 cases
What's the alternative? The loony left labour party? Fucking hell yes the Tories arent the best Corbyn and co would be a fucking disaster.
I hate to be the one to break it to you but Corbyn is about to be replaced. There is no Corbyn and Co, they’re an ex shadow government, they’ve expired, they are no more. What's the alternative? The loony left labour party? Fucking hell yes the Tories arent the best Corbyn and co would be a fucking disaster.
