Top scientist stating that it could be 18 months till fans are allowed back into stadiums - This is all to do with producing a vaccine - could be one of the reasons Mike Ashley is bailing out

“The best guess is about 18 months, could be a little more, could be a little less.”

Without significant financial assistance I fail to see how most lower league
Clubs would be able to survive ‘given those circumstances.

This is one person taking part in a round table discussion about the situation in America.

Not sure why the media have picked up on it and are presenting it as the probable course of action worldwide.

You would hope something like that would happen ‘but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

The more common opinion I’ve seen has been that nobody cares about smaller teams so who would miss them if they went. Same argument made for cancelling leagues below the Championship. Maybe fans of piss take clubs that got lucky should think twice

Yeah agreed. It's one possible scenario out of dozens.

Truth it, absolutely no one knows how or when we'll have football back. Not even the decision makers.

it could be in this strangest of times that not owning a stadium could be a massive plus, the drain on a club owning somewhere like the ricoh will be massive

We could social distance in families with the size of Stans or Ricoh and our season ticket quota - would make it a level playing field with Sunderland etc (although they'll be in the league below us, so will allow us to compete with many more teams in the Champ.
Yep season ticket holders only, spread around the ground, I'm all for it :)

There’s an interesting question. If we have a season behind closed doors, do the FA rules on stadia still apply or can we host games at Ryton instead?

It isn't going to help some of the top clubs either, players on massive contracts, no revenue from ticket sales a big drop in TV revenue and less merchandise too.

Dude. Stop. Take MMR as an example, had fake news about autism, famous “scary vaccine” for illnesses that aren’t a massive worry to many, it has over 90% uptake.

The number of people who won’t take a vaccine because they read something on FB is literally so tiny as to be insignificant.

Have you heard anything about pubs? Somebody has said a landlord up here has been told at least 2 months still.
No nothing as of yet ‘though I’m pretty sure different types of businesses will re-open at different stages,
Pubs for obvious reasons will probably be one of the last ‘and even then with tight restrictions in place
Regarding social distancing.

There are huge logistical challenges even when a vaccine is available

If a coronavirus vaccine arrives, can the world make enough?
That's true, even 60% coverage will be a huge challenge. My understanding is that they believe coronavirus has an R0 of between 2.4 and 3. so to achieve herd immunity in any one country 60% of the population need immunity either from recovering from infection or vaccination. There is an amount of supposition here, but if the experts are correct there should come a time when we can achieve 60% immunity through a combination of vaccination and recovered people. The big question is when that is.
