You seriously believe that ?
No wonder Sisu think everything is going okay with fans in denial.
Why the hell would Wasps want to buy CCFC?
Not the club. Just the name. they have the rest.
You really are deluded if you think Wasps get the Ricoh more exposure than CCFC. I keep looking on a Saturday for a rugby programme like Final Score or Soccer Saturday, you know the one that goes to games and names the stadium, but guess what their isn't one.
95% or so of the Country don't give a flying f*ck about Rugby, so unless you are talking about the 5%, public school pupils, or people like yourself and Ann Lucas, then most people wouldn't associate Wasps with the Ricoh because they either don't know or really aren't that bothered.
You've also got:
1) ccfc play more home games than wasps, therefore more opportunities to mention the Ricoh in the media
2) ccfc have Coventry in their name, that sparks trigger of thought 'don't they play at the ricoh?'
3) when wasps are on TV everyone can see the sky blue seats with ccfc, sky blues written in them and instantly think of us.

You're being disingenuous here old lad. Final score or Soccer Saturday don't major on third-tier, verging on fourth-tier football clubs. Unless it's one of those fall-from-grace articles, the PR from which isn't positive. It's 99.9% about top flight, maybe the top of the second flight clubs. And that's reflected in the league funding of those clubs.
I know you like your rugby, if supporting The Saints can be still be classified as such, and if you watch BT Sports extensive coverage, you'll know the PR within the game has been overwhelmingly positive.
Moreover, it's a success story rooting itself in the key demographic of JLR - the UK rugger bugger. Dress it up as you wish; this bullseyes JLR's quarry uniquely
1) Do you really think that bottom of the third tier Coventry City get more mentions in the national press (especially those in the demographic - Times, Telegraph that JLR are pitching for) than Wasps?
2) JLR don't care. Forget Coventry in the name. Think 'toxic by association' and you'll know why brands won't favour association with our litigation-favouring owners.
3) Unless they read your point and tear them out - at which point, despite Fisher's June assertions that there's STILL another option - you'll complain again. No?
No you are being disingenuous. When we played last season and were near the top of the league, they would certainly on Sky cut to the Ricoh for updates, and when we or the opposition score there is normally a cut from Jeff Stelling to the Ricoh Arena. Yes it isn't as much as if we were in the leagues above but they still do it. They don't do it for the Rugby.
Now you mention BT, which I don't doubt have shown great PR for Rugby, but I would hazard a guess that very few watch it compared to the masses that watch Soccer Saturday on Sky, or the football on the BBC. To compare the two is a complete misnomer.
So what exactly is this bull's-eye? and JLR's quarry? as if you had cared to keep up with the thread my beef has been that Italia has long been claiming he has a source at Wasps and that the new stadium sponsor was going to be JLR. He mentioned this nearly a year ago, and yet it still hasn't come to fruition. I am merely pointing out he perhaps needs to find a better source, as from where I am standing its still the Ricoh arena.
Oh and before you demean another's choice of Rugby Club, I would remind you that I do believe my humble team were the last Midland Winners of the English Premiership. Perhaps if you Tigers boys try to play some rugby for once instead of just grunting around the pitch you might do better.
1) yes
2)why haven't they already agreed a stadium sponsorship deal then as per Italia's 'source'
3) fucking too right I will complain

No never claimed that it was negative for wasps, just saying that people seeing them on TV would more likely think of us than wasps.Okay. Well, on point two, timing is of the essence. It'll happen, just wait.
As for 3), you seem to claim that sky blue seats are a negative thing for Wasps in your first point - yet, despite Fisher saying in June there's another option for home games - you'll complain if they change that you acknowledge is negative to them.
I wonder if the level of volume you seem to be saving for Wasps ever changing the seats, could be used - right now - for that silly arse Fisher still asserting two months ago that there's still a viable option for game-day football in Coventry?
Oh Moff; you bad lad. I don't like Tigers - I prefer Bath of the top flight boys. I do have a very nice signed Saints shirt if you'd like it - for a charitable donation, of course!!
I was talking the here and now. That is any sponsor looking at us for a, say, 5-year tenure. It will be JLR, we all know that. They're interested in the journey Wasps are on now. In that context, CCFC two, five or ten years ago are meaningless. They care about the now. Within their target market.
Just stating a factual stance. Probably get slagged off for it, but it is reasoned

Can't remember thr last time we saw you on a football related thread.....

Out of interest MMM, I see you have changed 'looking at us' to 'looking at the stadium'. Was that a Freudian slip, or do you happen to be in the Wasps nest?
Ha ha. I simply wanted to draw distinction between investment is us (the football club) and JLR's sponsorship of the stadium - which is a different thing. You're a conspiracy theorist!
That is totally fair enough.
Re the here and now, JLR as you said see 'toxic as association' and therefore are keeping their distance. Another poster stated they were in to be in 2016 the new stadium sponsor, it was nailed on, and now keeps changing his stance, along with a stance that Wasps are trying to do to us what SISU tried to do to ACL, distress us and then buy us. I find this perpetual nonsense a pain in the arse.
I am yet to be convinced about this journey wasps are on, I still feel they will overstretch their resources. Just a gut feeling, I could be wrong. It does amuse me that their fans froth at the mouth at Saracens and how they allege they are screwing the salary cap. Sour grapes if you ask me.
Please accept my apologies about the Tigers slur. I should have realised it being Bath, what with your carrot crunching past and all thatGood team, nice set up and nice ground. I would always choose that a traditional home over a big stadium team, and I say that without Sky Blue tinted glasses on. Oh and don't forget to tell your mate Haskell to keep away from Greggs!
Apologies, no conspiracy, I just thought I would check I wasn't reading it incorrectly................. It appears I was. I will pipe down now
I have to say - from a business perspective alone -
I think they do have a business plan that stands scrutiny. They have a plan for the long term, and they're engaging with the local community (ask President Kennedy, for example).
Naturally, they have a plan. Naturally too, they'll proactively engage more than established clubs (there was an interesting article about MK Dons, how they'd *had* to be far more proactive than any club because of their circumstances).
That could all be for nowt however, as they're currently displaced. MK Dons only narrowly avoided disaster, and you could still argue they're on the cusp of establishing themselves or otherwise.
How they fix or otherwise the displacement issue will determine their success or not. We shall see, I'm not convinced but... we shall see.
surely they would have been 'driven out'...."Coventry City kicked out of the Land Rover Stadium".. Should make it headline news
Wasps games are regularly shown on TV (beinsports) out here in the United States. They never show L1 or L2 games so CCFC have never featured on TV out here. Therefore, the claim from Moff that everyone associates the Ricoh with CCFC rather than Wasps simply isn't the case, at least not in global terms.

...but meanwhile even back in Little Britain (that might be lost on our US colleagues?) - Coventry is only largely famous for things such as: Lady Godiva; the saying "Send him to Coventry"; perhaps David Moorcroft's track exploits back in the day; being bombed to buggery in WW2; having 2 Cathedrals; and oh - "Didn't they win the FA Cup once"?Sorry you must point out where I said everyone associates the Ricoh with CCFC rather than Wasps. I said CCFC get the Ricoh more exposure than Wasps.
I forgot Rugby was so huge in the US...or not.
