If the CT wants access to sources then it's obvious they don't want to unduly upset those sources otherwise the supply of information will dry up. So it's always going to be a fine line between telling the truth and not upsetting the sources. I think we are all intelligent enough to read between the lines.

When things are bad, what does that mean?
Do you mean... like for BHS employees robbed of pensions? For youth unemployment? Council service cuts? The homeless? Or siding with a trading company against another trading company... and against a charity...and a leisure centre management company?
I'm not a fan of the CET, far from it. But please, be REAL.

With that reply i think you ARE the CET. I will deal with you later, off to work now.
On a side note, BHS story is nationwide so whatever the CT print is just a rehash of an old but regretable story. (not NEW LOCAL NEWS).
Before i look into what your reporting, are the CT going to help BHS employeses, youth unemployment (maybe ask them to report on local news and if someone does a good job emply them). Always had homeless, are the CT going to suddelnly find them work or jobs?
"Or siding with a trading company against another trading company... and against a charity...and a leisure centre management company?·.
I have asked since i stated the thread to not make it another CCC / SISU one etc (enough of them).
Off to work, i will deal with your reply later.

The latest click-bait story on the CT site is :-

RCC sticks boot into Coventry City Under-23s who are thumped 7-2 at Charlton Athletic

I did click on this thinking 'Bloody hell our goalkeeper has criticised the youth team and possibly the management' but it turns out his brother (Regan) scored the 4th of Charlton's seven goals.

Nothing to see here again.

I did the same, JHB, also thinking that our goalkeeper had been critical of the youth team. As you say, misleading click bait.

Nobody said they were. Think back to when we were in Northampton, the CT did absolutely nothing for 12 months and then after a couple of weeks campaigning we suddenly came back, if you were suspicious you would think it was all planned. Anyway thats not the point the point is the CT and in particular Simon Gilbert were more than happy to take all the credit for that yet now they are sat on the arses doing nothing again they are saying its down to the fans.

The CT is a focal point. If they had campaigned hard against franchising and Wasps turning up things could be very different now. Same thing with the academy, start a big campaign and unite everyone behind it.

Absolutely, Dave. How many times in the past have the Daily Mail or Daily Mirror taken credit for something the government have changed their minds about. A campaign can really capture the imagination of people and I think this is a real missed opportunity from the CT.

As Dave pointed out the CT did bugger all for a year until we were coming back and then they had vans with plackards on driving around and leaflets and stuff. They ignored the Wasps sale and issues with the Academy. Only the Observer tried to rally support but being the Observer they were shot down before anything could really happen.

Funny how Gilbert says that Save The Academy is a "fan led campaign" and nothing to do with them. I thought local press would have been more supportive than that, but maybe that's the whole Mirror Group thing as they aren't really that local anymore are they. The print copy is even worse with it's new "look" and the website is so dripping with advertising that I rarely visit. Even then it's full of misleading headlines or "five things we've learned" or "best CCFC players with moustaches" or something similar.

Piss poor really from a local newspaper, you would have thought getting behind a campaign to save the local football team would have brought people together, raised a bit of passion and their circulation to boot.

Are they reserve games usually reported so much or just after a hammering?
