Points per game on boxing day
Man utd 2.65
arsenal 2.14
coventry 2.13
Made me a bit sad but suprised , what was your best boxing day match of the PL era ??
Think Cov 5 Norwich 4 was a boxing day fixture and was City 5 Liverpool 1 memory fades a bit in time. One ironic one was v Wolves away, way back in the early 70s. Thousands of Cov made the trip on train, got to Wolverhampton were a cloud of fog over Molyneux caused the game to be the only game off that day. We ended up at Leicester to watch Leicester v Millwall, others went to Birmingham, think they were playing West Ham, imagine that nowadays, lots of aggro all over.

92/93 3-0 villa- unbelievable
96/97 3-1 away to Leeds only had `10 men and oggy saved a penalty
99/00 3-2 Arsenal, 1 of the clubs greatest ever results
00/01 didn't go but beat Everton 2-1 away even in our relegation season

LOL, I was there. Played them off the pitch. I was in the kop standing next to the Villa fans and after the 3rd goal went in, one Villa fan said 'please Cov, have mercy!', we should have scored more goals. The game ended and most of Highfield Road stood as one to applaud the players off the pitch.
Right after the game a bank of fog rolled in over Highfield Road, I quitely thanked God for delaying that fog until after the Whipping of Villa, cos there was no way that game would have been played in that fog.
Premier League football @ Highfield Road. Those were the glory days.
And whilst everyone is busy wetting themselves over 28,000 WASPs suporters at the Ricoh, anyone who was part of the 24,000 at this 3-0 win over villa will remember a proper football atmosphere at a local derby.
We had some fantastic Christmas performances. There was that Arsenal game one Boxing Day too, but we had a reputation for flying high then coming down after Christmas like the decorations. The great escapes always started in the last fortnight of the season!
