Loads of them in Coventry. Mega rich ones. Not even the rich Asian students?
I've lived in my adopted home city of Liverpool for well over 20 years now.......a city that certainly had an image problem......and after it won the (far more prestigious and original) European Capital of Culture...its never looked back as far as city centre re-development, innovation & creativity are concerned.....
fantastic city, go up twice a year 'in fact we are up there at the end of August for Beatles week,As I've said before, I love Liverpool. Took my daughter once and within about 2 or 3 hours she declared she wanted to live there.
I found it incredibly oppressive. Was in Manchester last week for a few days arrive Sunday night nipped 300 yards from hotel to a Tesco I must have been approached by 15-20 different blokes all out of their faces, was like a zombie film!
Is it the drug 'spice' they're on on there?
Very worrying.
Walk past Jumbo or Noodlebar and you'll see it's packed of your rich Asian students you seek Nick. Half the price of Wagamamas and always busy. Not even the rich Asian students?
You eaten at Jumbo? None of my family were impressed.Walk past Jumbo or Noodlebar and you'll see it's packed of your rich Asian students you seek Nick. Half the price of Wagamamas and always busy.
I've not. But walk past it most days to grab a sandwich and it's always busy at lunch times. Eaten at Noodlebar a few times and that is always busy, queued to get in there at midday as it opened! You eaten at Jumbo? None of my family were impressed.
Yeah I think that's the one. We didn't know it was there but parked up and went in, some pretty decent shops there as well.
Is there a tunnel or a way to walk over the road to the other retail park? You can't go to a retail park without spending money you don't need to in B&M on shit you don't need.

Yep, seen quite big queues at Jumbo. Guess it is location as much as owt else.I've not. But walk past it most days to grab a sandwich and it's always busy at lunch times. Eaten at Noodlebar a few times and that is always busy, queued to get in there at midday as it opened!
Only the crossings either by Tesco or further down the road. You can get into the back of the other retail park by walking by the side of the river along Tesco's car park and turn right across a foot bridge over the river. It takes you up the side of the cinema straight to B& M. Probably could do with something more direct though.
One of them that lives in the flats at the back of the registry office drives around in a brand new Nissan GTR... they bring in a ridiculous amount of money to the Uni in their fees.I don't seek them
I used to see them getting into their brand news Audi's, BMW's and Mercs most days though!

I was replying to someone talking about beggars as if Coventry were the only city to have them. Unless that person is right and Coventry is indeed the only place to have beggars.

Some interesting and valid points, but still doesn't make any sense, with new developments and restaurants/bars opening it does seem to be geared towards students( it is only my opinion of course) as with the amount of accommodation there is for them and more to follow i believe.
Not even the rich Asian students?
Yes, it's endemic. I've seen people passed out on the streets a few times. People screaming. Spice causes people to vomit as well so you often see big piles of sick around in the middle of the day.
Presume you stayed near Piccadilly? The walk from Piccadilly station to the Piccadilly Gardens is dreadful, full of spice boys and girls.
Leicester square / Covent gardenCorrect I have never seen beggars anywhere else in the country.
Especially not Los Iguanas. You are looking at around £11-£13 plus for many of their main course meals.
I find it a bit expensive for what it is. Niw put yourself in a student mindset.
Have seen student looking types (mainly Chinese and/ or Far East) in Wagamama, but don't think I have ever seen students in Los Iguanas.
That's odd. Why do they give 25% discount with a student union card then? My daughter went there with 4 student mates last week

Remember watching a documentary about it, some bloke in prison took some and went mental. Looks like horrible stuff.

A dusty old can from the back of the cupboard and a bin to sit on is better than the jag.
Get the fuck outta here with your bullshit. No chance a student is eating in Wagamamas on a frequent basis of an evening, it's way too spendy.
Completely agree, that's what I'm saying about the ring road, it's no coincidence that this ParticularI
The walk from the station into town is much improved and really quite pleasant.

Are not, but they would like them to.
They feature on student beans as does las iguanas whose target market are "pre family" young diners. Wagamama is classic student dining. It's mission statement describes it.
Even the headline prices are cheap.
I don't know why people think students live like the young ones. Accommodation alone is around £5 grand a year.
Coventry City town centre is an urban doss hole, nothing to do with students either, in fact you don't see that many to be fair. Tripping over beggars and their well nourished dog is becoming an art, one doorway has a make up double bed in it ffk sake !!
