Expecting a few changes just for fitness levels since Sunderland is on the weekend.

Could see Dasilva or even mason clark getting the lwb nod, The strikers I think will change, wouldn’t mind Simms and Norman and bring Wright on later for fitness.

Outside of that, same team.

Massive game with hard fixtures ahead. Push into the top half now please. 3 points would be massive from where we were just 8 days ago. If we win and baggies don’t beat Burnley we would be within 4 points of play offs. Lose and within 1 or 2 points of the bottom 3.

Basically the same team (they are professional footballers, they train, they can do three matches in a week), but Simms back in if fit. Tats v Torp is a toss up.

For all its critics, 3-4-1-2 seems to work with the players that we have - four at the back including Da Silva frightens the pants off me and given the overall quality of our centre backs we need to use three of them.

Can't see us not beating Direby now. 2-0, easy work.

Don’t rule out 4 at the back completely - goals from Wright and Eccles came when we were playing with a back 4.

Dovin
Lati Thomas Binks
MVE Sheaf Eccles Dasilva
Torp
Wright BTA

I would make one change, Dasilva for Rudoni and then bring Rudoni on later when they are tiring. I can see Robins sticking with same 11 though

Stay with a 5, we’ve actually kept possession recently and I don’t trust us with only two at the back. Same team, same subs.

Baring injuries, same team please. No coincidence we have started picking up results now Robins has settled on a formation and predominantly the same players

...and interestingly not one being advocated before the season. Robins is undogmatic, he learns and changes if sometimes slowly and maybe even that's good.

If Simms is fit then I'd start him ahead of BTA and keep the rest of the team as it was.
I still worry about our lapses in concentration at the back, but think we'll win 2-1

Fair enough, just thought to keep him fit and safe for Sunderland. Not hating on wright been our best player so far.
I have a feeling if Simms is fit he may come back in . Agree Wright has to start. Just my luck I'm not allowed to attend a game till around the 26 th Dec. I'll be there in spirit. At least Sunderland won't have Bellingham playing against us next Sat

As we are now on a bit of a roll, I am going to predict a sneaky little 18 nil victory.

At least 7 of them from Eccles, now he's suddenly a goal machine.
He's always been capable of stroking the ball home from 18 yds tbf, just needs to show it consistently.

Not for me. Asante worked really hard yesterday. Bassett is looking good as well.

On another day BTA could have had a hattrick (slight offside not given, gets to the ball across for Hajis goal first, toe poke past the keeper from the bad back pass goes in). Did more than enough to keep his place IMO. Always seems to get himself into dangerous positions.

Derby at home Wednesday night then less than 3 days later the long journey up to Sunderland. I'd rest any players we can against Derby. Have them on the bench just in case we need them. We need a full strength side more against Sunderland than Derby. And we have more than capable replacements.

Not starting our best player isn’t going to happen.

Have to disagree and, please accept my apologies, quote the old cliche that the most important game is your next game.

Last thing we want to do is rest players and slip on the Derby banana skin.

Get the win against Derby and set ourselves up for a final push before most players have a break to recover anyway.

Looking ahead to Sunderland - they’ll be without Jobe Bellingham and with a little luck Chris Rigg too, but he might still recover in time. As good a time as any to play them

Nothing wrong with an opinion put politely 👍

It can go both ways. Put out what we consider the best side against Derby. Not easy when we can't decide between ourselves what that is. Game doesn't go to plan and we lose after everyone gives it their all. We would be left with jaded players or those not considered to be 1st team players against the side clear at the top.

Sunderland will be there for the taking with a couple of their best players missing. The idea of squad rotation is to try and keep players fresh for as long as you can.
