Are these three clubs the only ones in the Football League who effectively only occupy their stadiums on match days and therefore have limited revenue streams?

Should Wasps eventually effectively own 100% of the Ricoh lease then it wouldn't make City unique but it would sure as hell make their situation rare.

A situation entirely of the club's making.

If it works for Swansea it can work for us.

How did you come up with those 2 other clubs? I thought Oxford owned the Kassam?

Ipswich rent Portman road from the council. Not sure if they have access to match day revenues though.

Swansea are part owners of the lease/stadium management company so get access to revenue. A completely different scenario to us renting matchdays only from wasps.

A quick look at both Ipswich and Leeds website suggest they have 365 day use - look at the commercial tab - events/conferencing, etc.

Well... they rent the ground the stands are stood on, but own the stands and buildings on site.

Just because it's advertised on their site Stu, doesn't mean they get the revenues from it.

True. But when you contrast it with our commercial page http://www.ccfc.co.uk/commercial/ it's purely sponsorship, advertising and hospitality. And we know that we only use the ground matchdays only, so it's an indication.

Kassam the previous club owner sold the team and kept the stadium. OU would like to build their own ground.

We need to put a fair bid into Higgs for their share. An offer they can't refuse and do it publicly. So everyone knows the money the charity could have.
4-5 million would do it

So you want the club to pay more than the councils valuation ?

Or is it that wasps are paying under so distressing a charity?

Or is it that you think the club is less entitled than wasps?

Not withstanding the fact it would still be vetoed anyway.

Problem is, it really would just be for PR purposes.

It'd be a bid with no real meaning or intention and, once again, both 'sides' are playing poker and trying to manipulate emotions.

One 'side' claims the option to buy is there when it isn't really, whilst the other 'side' pretends to try to buy something they don't particularly seem to want!

One thing that came out from yesterday is that Peterborough pay 650k to rent their tin pot stadium, not sure what sort of perks that comes with though. I'm guessing they get use of it all year round but can't see London Road generating much revenue for them on non match day.

And they've also been in dispute with their landlords, and threatened to go elsewhere.

I don't think we should but tbf Council would have nowhere to hide if the club offered more than Wasps and they still rejected it and let Wasps have 100%

Even there most die hard supporters would have to face the truth then.

If the share transfer has gone through to wasps already they can claim its nothing to so with them.

This is gone. If the club bit £5 million or £10 million or £50 the outcome will be the same.

You're probably right

Just saying if the club came out and bid twice as much as wasps an the wasps deal still went through then theres nothing the council defenders could argue anymore, yet if the club didn't bid or even bid the same as wasps then they would trot out there same excuses again and again in their defence.

Everyone will always find a reason why it didn't really happen as it seemed.

From whatever perspective.

The sad thing is, they'd probably all be right...

I wonder if wasps would pull out if they weren't awarded Higgs share? Has the purchase even gone through yet?

What a criminal I can't think of any other owners who would want to do such a thing!
