How is he being " shoehorned" ? Honestly what drivelWhat are you on about?
At the time he was brought in, Wright was the first name on the team sheet at LW.
Hence why it was a strange buy. EMC's strongest position is LW and we already had a player there who unless sold was never going to be replaced. He's also looked very uncomfortable when tried out in other positions.
Wright is being shoehorned into the 9 role, which for the most part he isn't all that suited to. I'd much prefer him on the left.
Any videoLoving that reaction from the bench
Joe Edwards and Allen both losing their shit
He was absolutely superb against Sunderland up front though, but I do agree.I think it's more that this is where Wright is very much exposed as a 9. He's nowhere near physical enough and looks very uncomfortable playing with his back to goal, especially when defenders are tight on him. Which they were pretty much all game until he went off.
He was LOL
You're giving Kenilworth a bad name here. Wright is back... EMC is still playing, yes or no?What are you on about?

I thought he was poor last night.Again. How can people rate Flat Grimes any higher?

Grimes has had a couple of poor games recently. He needs to receive the ball in more attacking areas and not play so safe against the lesser sidesAgain. How can people rate Flat Grimes any higher?
Was a bit too sideways backwards last night albeit tough against a low blockGrimes has had a couple of poor games recently. He needs to receive the ball in more attacking areas and not play so safe against the lesser sides
But if he plays 10-15 yards further forward then it opens up the blockWas a bit too sideways backwards last night albeit tough against a low block
I think he's a good player, but a dubious signing if that makes sense.I think he was intended as the Wright replacement but at this point he’s looking more like a decent back-up player (if we’re serious about winning promotion). I’ve said it plenty of times but we overpaid by a couple of million for him.
Come off it lol great goal but EMC offers a lot more from what I’ve seen.

It wasnt Kitching. It was Poole.
It was because you tried to make out it was a Kitching header off his own bar when it wasn'tNot really relevant.
That's unfair, he was a big part of our resurgence only a month or so ago .What has EMC done against Sheffield United, Burnley and Portsmouth. Nothing! He looks out of his depth in the Championship. Hopefully he can still improve but he has looked nothing special and very clumsy on the ball.
The decision is more and more mad the more you watchOr refs. The ref should have seen the handball as he was closer. The linesman should have seen it as the player's hand moved a lot after it got hit by the ball.
Rudoni doesn't seem to get as close to Wright as he did when Simms was starting . He was almost a false 9 with SimmsAnyway, it would work better if they allowed Wright to float out to the left more imo, it's too rigid up there. That's just my opinion anyway.

Players do go in and out of form
One pertinent to the incident would be better, surely, otherwise you will just get replies of clips with all sorts of random shit going on.Any video

He's not been shoehorned into anything, Lampard is free to move him to the left and stick Simms through the middle. Lampard obviously likes him where he is.
And your judgement says he's not a championship player?I'm judging him on what I have seen over the season. Not just two good games.
It's weird as Dovin is the better keeper but he wouldn't of kicked like that so effectively Collins won us the pointsAt last a bit of praise for Collins. Personally I think he had a good game. His distribution was good.
Some people need to get used to the fact that our season depends on him and he needs our backing. If it was Dovin in goal last night he would have got nothing but praise.
It’s bad I’m sureHope Torp is ok and it's nothing serious.
He'll be out for the season, ankles take forever to heal properlyIt’s bad I’m sure
I liked the way Pompey set up. All behind the ball when out of possession but played with 6 or 7 attacking players really high up in possession. Very nearly worked for them.
Their manager is very good imho. If for whatever reason FL were to go, I’d go after Mousinho.I liked the way Pompey set up. All behind the ball when out of possession but played with 6 or 7 attacking players really high up in possession. Very nearly worked for them.
Not the brightest sparkChrist you're not the brightest spark are you.
Lampard wants to start the game with the best team available on paper from what he's seen since he came in which in his eyes will be EMC Wright (being our best player) and Sakamoto. Understandable.
However, EMC's form has been very mixed since he's come back from injury and I've always been indifferent about starting Wright up top on his own.
Personally I think one has to be resigned to the bench to get more out of our forward line. EMC dropped, Wright on the left, Simms in the 9 spot.
But like I said earlier if it was Dovin he would have got praise especially as it was Collins who spotted Rudoni then got the ball to him with just seconds remaining. 2 points gained partly because of him.In all fairness he only had to face one shot, and it was a tame one. Although they broke well, particularly in the first half, Portsmouth's end product was pretty toothless for the most part.
Distribution was very good from him throughout though.
I agreeWright is better on the left and running at defenders - he should get back there and use his pace
Just not the same threat is heI agree
Wright is wasted up front
He can play there, he pulled down Sunderland pants a few weeks ago. He's better on the left but it's not an excuse for his performance last night, he's better than that.I agree
Wright is wasted up front
