It was unbelievable. Especially as the ref has such a great view of the incident.

Very lucky escape for Plymouth there for sure

Looked a pen to me as well.

A general point though that by and large the referees have been pretty good this year, and noticably keen to keep play moving. I am sure some of you will think of exceptions but I can't remember coming away thinking that the ref had a shocker

At least it didn’t impact the result. Would have been pretty pissed off if we had lost that by a single goal. Or even drawn tbh.

Seeing that back, how the fuck didn't he give a pen?
Josh said as much in his post match interview, for me he gets top marks for not reacting to the ref's failure to give the penalty and possibly getting a yellow.

Can I add, Dovin's first clean sheet is a nice bonus.

Ref couldn’t have had a clearer view. No excuse for a mistake, can only assume it was a conscious decision given something none of us have spotted.

The ref tried to keep the game flowing, which was to his credit. It was a mistake on his part not to award a penalty, which seemed pretty nailed on.
He should have booked Wright soon after he came on and I couldn't understand why he didn't.
Having said that I thought the ref had a decent game and was much better than most we've seen this season

Wright looked like a devious dirty bastard the moment he came on, a face that really deserves a slap.

I wonder if an early yellow would have stopped him from the foul. He had plenty of time to think about it so it was quite calculated, worth a double red if such a thing existed. Premeditated extreme foul play / assault.

Agreed - Bidwell had a great game and the header to Mason Clark on the build up to Eccles first goal was something JDS could never have managed.
Bidwell is clearly the better player.

I have always stood up for Dasilva in the past. He scares the life out of me at the back, because he makes so many errors, gets bullied off the ball and obviously lacks the height for crossfield balls in the air, but I thought he was always pretty decent further up the pitch.

Trouble is, he then doesn't seem to produce the crosses needed or assists for strikers to get on the end of and if he's not doing that, you have to think, what's the point of him?

I do think it's time for him to look to other pastures, but if he does need to be involved right now, it needs to be with him nowhere near the back 4 or in a defensive position.
