COVENTRY CITY will begin their League One campaign "fitter and stronger than ever before", according to Sky Blues boss Andy Thorn.
The City manager is waiting for the Championship play-offs to be decided before arranging City’s more high-profile friendlies which will kick off, as usual, with run outs against local non-league clubs Hinckley United and Nuneaton Town.
The Sky Blues will travel to the Greene King Stadium to play Hinckley on Saturday, July 14, and will take on Boro at Liberty Way on Saturday, July 28, both games kicking off at 3pm.
They then travel to League Two Bristol Rovers on Saturday, August 4 (3pm), swiftly followed by a trip to Micky Adams’ Port Vale on Tuesday, August 7 (7.30pm).

Thorn said: “The pre-season will be away games and we’ll get some tough Championship games when they play-offs are all sorted out.
“We have got a programme that will be proper tough. We’ll be fitter and stronger than we’ve ever been before.
"The whole mentality of the place is going to change and we’ll have new faces coming in which will give it a fresh look.
“We’d like to have the new players in before we start training on July 1 – that’s the aim.
"Whether I get there or not is a different matter but that’s the aim.
“We’ll still enjoy ourselves and there will be a buzz about the place but the whole atmosphere is going to change. There are so many things that have been done here over the years that won’t be done again.”

It must be one thats involved in the play offs ;)

Yeah, whoever wins the L1 Play Offs! Just think, we could host the mighty Stevenage in a huge preseason game: it's a big change from the Benfica days!

It'll be Cardiff, part of the Turner deal. £20 staples voucher and a pre season friendly, as vigorously negotiated by Ken Deluded......
