We are a Club with big ambitions, and all that we want is support for our new team, it is going to be a club for the fans. The colour red was agreed with the 4 of us and the players.
Were'nt the Sporting re-incarnated recently ....as in the last five years??
Has a decent Coventry tradition there.
REMEMBER THIS ,maybe your too young .Great Achievment ,the biggest joke was they came and thought they'd try and take the West END:jerkit::jerkit::jerkit::jerkit:
Don't want to make you feel old wingy but my old man told me about itdid they beat tranmere on the way aswell.they had the matchball in the trophy cabinet signed by all the players.i used to have to clean it now and again.had great history for a little non league club
Used to go to all the Disco's there back in the Day ,some Rumbles and fumbles went on in the Car Park ,no names unfortunately but some great players and backroom people involved with the club.Oh Happy Days.
I heard about those famous nightsthe famous corners ...it was some line up on the door.what was the name of the club across the car park. .
Was it a Rugby Club??
Try a few of those names on the door on me Quinny
Not sure was it strikers or something..I remember frank carpenter..john davies ...I used to work in the football club on my ytsbob alley ran it and I worked with george callcott.
Would any of the fans moaning about the name actually go anyway or just want something to moan about?

Yes that all rings a bell ,Big lad called Ian Thompson on the door IIRC.
I just don't have the enthusiasm for it, never have, never will.
Personally, I think this new CUFC will go nowhere because there won't be support for it, and I don't like the idea of taking CCFC fans away from CCFC.
If worst came to worst, I'd play Rugby instead or just work on Saturdays.
I remember that.
Seem to remember Peterboro fans running on to the pitch to get away from some pretty pissed off cov fans.
Surely it has to be a resurrection of Coventry Sporting Club who played at Kirby Corner until they went out of business. Played in Red and Green (Cov's City Colours) but in no way a replacement for City.
Wish them luck though.
I was at that one and the 1st round v Tranmere 1975. Peterboro took over the West End thinking they were the big club in town until Cov fans arrived from the pubs at about 2.50 and peterboro fans left very quickly to put it politely.
I went on to play for them up to U16's had a really big youth section and we played in the FA Youth Cup too.
I remember that.

Red & green would be brilliant. Just like it used to be. Red & green quarters wasn't it, from the pictures I've seen, or maybe red & green halves. Red & green stripes would be a good alternative - & then maybe blue as a change strip.
Yes, I can really see that taking off. Lots of precedents, lots of history to draw on which could be important for a new entity to draw on.
As we once famously sang, "Go for it!"
Yep, red and green would have some Coventry link.
Can I just add though, having not mentioned it before. . . . . I HATE the name!!
.
Shall we set up a new trust and protest against the team colours and the name? Send your quids this way please...
Red? And that badge looks like something the EDL would come up with.
I agree with other posters. Change the name, make it clear that this IS a new club set up for those fans that no longer follow city in Walsall and you might just be onto something. I'd certainly go if Cov are playing home games in Walsall
