The new sky blue Cov United kit, should make the people that didn't like the red kit happy.
The reason Cov Utd are the horse to back is because they were formed to rise up the leagues, the historical local teams like Copeswood & Sphinx are what they are & are going nowhere in particular because they haven't got a group of ambitious local businessmen funding them.
Also didn’t SISU try to exploit a business opportunities when they took over CCFC.. what is the difference between that and with Cov Utd, it is all business.
It remains to be seen how much backing the Cov Utd owners will put in.. at present they're only in tier 12 of the FL and it doesn't cost them a lot, to take the team all the way to the Conference will need a proper ground and attendances of 1500 at least, all of which means serious investment & commitment.
They've got a decent following for their level to be fair. Love them or hate them they are here to stay.
They are likely to be promoted despite major fixture congestion, although won't now win the league. They won one game 28-0.
What will they do should CCFC return/SISU leave/both?
Imagine they would carry on as a non league team with a non league level support. They may lose a small portion of support but many will also stay.
They could have invested in one of the existing Coventry non league clubs-they chose not to. Says all you need to know about their reasons for doing it, in my view.
New non league teams are started all the time. They are not Coventry City in any way so don't see the issue.
This is a Coventry City forum?

Non league teams founded specifically as protests against existing league clubs aren't started all the time. CCFC will be back in Coventry before this lot make it to the FL, I assure you of that and will happily eat humble pie if I'm wrong.
I don't disagree with you on that. My point is formed as a protest, yes, but not necessarily a replacement.
To be honest I'm a big non league fan and I will always be in support of any local non league team. Never as a replacement for ccfc though.
@Rich87 really wanted that breakaway club, didn't he?
I've seen bits of a few games they have played at the Alan Higgs Centre, they have some decent players, and are 2nd in the league after their promotion last year.
Worth a visit if you're not watching CCFC, Cov, Wasps, Sphinx, MK Dons, etc etc
Many cities/towns much smaller than Coventry have two or more non-league sides. I welcome someone starting a new one, if they are ambitious. The Sphinx were originally a works team and only adopted the name 'Coventry' much later. They don't seem to be very ambitious, have never risen very high in the league pyramid and have never won any national tournament like the FA trophy or FA Vase whereas many teams from much smaller towns have.
Otis can you bump some those Phoenix threads and the one about the 5 stages of grief?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - so please excuse any spelling or grammar errors
The overwhelming majority of non league teams haven't won either of those trophies. It doesn't correlate with ambition.
Bringing back great memories of that Great Guy Ian Crawley getting to Score there before that devastating Illness took him .RIP Ian.VS Rugby, FA Vase winners. Also have a 100% win record against Man U.
Some familiar names that make me shudder amongst that tripe.Mention of Cov Utd just made me chuckle at this old shite
