Forgive my ignorance, but why has covid given rise to more injuries this deep into the season? Completely understandable after a substantial lay off but managers are still blaming the pandemic. Im confused.
Quite a few of our players have had covid. Some were asymptomatic
No one is sure if having no symptoms has any effect on fitness but many of those who have a full blown dose take a while to recover. The Newcastle lads being the best known examples.

Also think the training they can do is limited so routines are different. Also think fans underestimate the effect of not playing or training for months.

I remember ray woods was out for ages injuring himself changing tyre on his car.
after watching the docs about Man City and Spurs their players spent half the day having treatments massages etc so if Covid restrictions prevent those that prob doesn’t help with injuries either
