That thread is a masterclass i sweeping genrealisation. If all of our fans had been 'hoying' from the top deck it would have been like Agincourt for them. As it was, it was a tiny minority of mongs doing what mongs do best. It must a sad and lonely existence to want to wank yourself into a frenzy about events from the 70s and those happening in a game not involving your own club.

Cant wait until my holiday in Majorca.
The first week is always full of Sunderland fans the second is their more educated neighbours Newcastle.
Will proudly put out my CCFC flip flops on the beach.
The good thing is they they dont stay at our apartments too posh for them.

They thought it was all over....

Basically Doncaster fans started a pitch invasion after scoring and then again at the final whistle. Quite a few of our own decided to also get on the pitch and all were separated by the police etc.

It was the most exciting part of the day.

Invasion was shown on TV let’s be fair with Donny winning a play off spot theirs was probably expected and it looked like their stewards immediately put a line across the half way line, which probably enticed our worryingly growing group of morons to play the tough guys which is easy when there’s little chance of a proper get together

The Sunderland forum, ‘Ready to Go’ is highly recommended for its unintentional comedy content. They have a new term for their own more pessimistic fans, bedwetters, which I think nicely sums up their entire fan base. I would also highly recommend the Netflix series which is hilarious.

Forgets to mention Bristol’s sub Clive Whitehead hit the bar with thumping last minute blaster. The reason Sunderland went down was they lost 2-0 to an Everton team with little to play for, we knew Everton were winning long before the final result was flashed onto the scoreboard.

Have to say that the thing I don't get from them is that they say we have a chip on our shoulders, yet they start the thread up about us !(ok, we've done this in response, but they do seem odd - I expect they'll refocus their animosity towards Pompey after/during the play off games)

We will only get given 500 there. Why? Because they made a fuss about a handful of idiots. The proper fans will lose out.

IF they stay down and they give us a small allocation, I'll be fuming if CCFC don't do the same.

I was a bit pissed off with the behaviour of our fans at the end , it was their day , their moment not ours .

There was literally ZERO reason for our supporters to go on the pitch

Of the 2300 in attendance , about 50 went on the pitch , so a tiny minority

Seriously it's 42 years ago.
Probably most the posters on their site weren't even born then. They've yoyoed up and down the leagues since then.
They are not a club I even give a 2nd thought to. We hadn't played them for over 10 years before this season's games.

Ok just had a read .

A Sunderland fan states Coventry fans behaviour in both fixtures , however some people like myself don’t just see things one way ... I was standing RIGHT NEXT TO the Sunderland fan who threw the very first punch over the fence at the Ricoh which In turn started the mass brawl .
If we want to use their line , they started the trouble next to women and children , I had my 8 year old daughter crying her eyes out next to me whilst grown men were trying to rip each others eyes out , men from both sides .

So spare me the “we are thou holy arseholes” bollocks

On a plus side and credit to a Sunderland fan , he asked if my daughter was ok and gave her £2 , which I refused but he insisted .

Moral of the story , their fans aren’t perfect , ours certainly aren’t but I can’t help but feel they’ve poked at our fans and club for a few years now and created the rivalry that they now denounce

The thing is, they've made a link between the 70's result and that we've been badly behaved home and away against them this season (without mentioning the anti Jimmy Hill stuff that had been spouted before a ball was kicked (including the rant at JH's statue - which was funnier than it was insulting)
What is annoying (probably from both sets of fans perspective) is that the keyboard warrior stuff usually ends up inciting idiots from either side and ends up with some poor innocent getting a kicking, rather than said idiots themselves.
Can't see Sunderland getting through the play offs, so look forward to next season's pre-match banter.
