We are keeping the Football League fully informed of our plans and they have been satisfied with the progress we have shown them to date.

Coventry City can confirm there are no issues with regards to progress on agreement terms set by the Football League

Following further media speculation, Coventry City Football Club can confirm that it is in continued discussions with the Football League with regards to building our new stadium.

However, we understand supporters’ frustrations at not yet knowing the location but the sensitivity around those land deals means we are not yet able to reveal any further detail.

The reason we are building our new stadium is simple. It is vital that we have access to all the revenues a stadium can generate in order to put the maximum investment onto the pitch.

We are keeping the Football League fully informed of our plans and they have been satisfied with the progress we have shown them to date.

We will continue to work with The Football League as per our agreement and there are no issues with the progress we have made and certainly no suggestion of making any further demands than those we have already met.

In the meantime, we are gaining vital input from supporters through the CCFC Stadium Forum because we want to ensure the new ground has the club’s DNA imprinted

If you happen to get an interview with the club

Can you ask how the club intends to recoup at least 65 million for its investors ( assuming AVRO) don't put in a further 10 million over the next couple of years. Otherwise we are talking 75 million plus

If it is via selling both club and stadium this price it anywhere near it is not obtainable.

If it is via yearly profits it would take over 100 years.

Someone might successfully outbid Sisu for the site and build their own stadium there.
Or if they're buying it via a third party it could be to keep the price down. Owner might jack the price up if they knew it was Sisu bidding.

It was very worrying that ML either couldn't or wouldn't answer, the question of what happens if we don't get planning permission.

build it on top of the ricoh!!!!!!! be a nice high view and would be annoying for council as they would not be able to have open stadium concerts due to sun being blocked out buy our new 15k stadium

Damn it, they've figured out my cunning plan.

I work for the council. As soon as we know where they're planning the new ground, we're going to gazump the deal, buy the site and fill the land with nuclear waste. We'll also reposition our giant sun-blocking satellite (that we launched last year purely for this purpose, from our cunningly disguised waste-reprocessing plant at Whitley) so that no grass will ever grow there.

TF: Do you expect me to tell you where the site is, Ms Lucas.
AL: No Mr Fisher, I expect you to die!

(Mwaah haa haa... etc).

I presume this is how Labovitch sees the Council anyway, judging from that interview.

ML alluded to the awesome power that the council have, apparently they alone scuppered the Walsall groundshare plan - the fans on both sides, the Walsall manager Dean Smith etc. had nothing to do with it.

It makes little sense to me. If anyone else was looking to buy land, for any purpose let alone a stadium, it shouldn't be too difficult for them to identify a site that's for sale and make a bid. It's not like people wanting to sell land are going to be keeping it secret, it would be in their interests for others to know, get two bidders and they make more money!

I look at clubs down here on the south coast (Pompey, Southampton, Brighton and Bournemouth spring to mind) and I have seen artist impressions, full plans and location details for many stadiums and training grounds - some that got built others that didn't. I'm not aware of a single case where releasing that information to fans caused an issue.

they dont have one, thats why they cant announce it. Makes perfect sense to me

Acronyms are not all bad. I work for an american company. A lot can be lost in translation. For instance we would wear our pants under their pants. My favourite acronym was at the plant I worked for them before I was where I am now. I was a part of the Fast Acting Response Team It always raised a smile when you saw any communication with the word FART at the top in big letters And of course the older members were all old farts.

So, Simon Gilbert speaks to a representative of FL who says they are seeking reassurances and are therefore not happy with progress this far.
The club then issue a statement that says the FL are "satisfied with progress to date"
Both cannot be true so they either spoke to different people and FL need to clarify or either Simon's article or the club's response contain untruths.
Or am I missing something ?
