Home game for me (against some low level outfit - Southend ) -so that we don't have to spend so much on travel, can win, plus get some game time into the odd fringe player like JJ

Sort of agree, except it is extra money for progress, plus it is before the league starts(I think!) so is it an extra game for first team preparation?

Ah didn’t realise the first game was before the season. In that case: someone we can beat. After that I don’t care.

Before the season starts so someone a bit poo. Treat it as the last pre season friendly. Win then great. Lose then it doesn’t matter. I’m sure MR will be a little more scientific though... that’s why he gets the big bucks!

As it's the first game of the season i'd treat it like a bonus pre-season friendly using the first team in a more competitive game to get them up to speed tactically.

Hi Liquid - feel like i'm back in my school days, being the thick one who holds his hand up in class to ask the teacher a question, but what does SHFWR stand for? Meant to ask Hill on different posts, but never got round to it! Forgive my ignorance!

When we were relegated to league two everybody kept saying “shows how far we’ve fallen” about everything which became a bit of a joke so everything was SHFWF.

SHFWR is the same but risen.
