According to the Mirror today, Newcastle and Stoke are battling it out to sign him.

The Mirror's also claiming Louis Walsh and Kelly Rowland are no longer talking. Can this day get any worse?

Not sure the length of his contract, the longer the better as this gives us a better bargaining position. However it is far to early for him to be thinking of moving to the Prem, he could spend the next couple of years in the reserves. But at the end of the day, if the club gets a good offer they will take it. Plus the fact the player will no doubt get a huge pay increase

It is on the BBC gossip pages. But that changes every other day about players going to the moon.

As long as there is enough money invovled, he can go. Just, money please gentlemen.

Think he's only signed till end of season SBUN

In that case we need to either get him to sign a new one NOW, or sell him in the January window. We cannot afford to let him go a on free

We need to get him a new contract ASAP

If he chose to leave, we'd still get a compensation fee.

Sheffield Utd got 4.5million a piece for Naughton and Walker two quality young right backs with potential, that should set the bench mark, then again we are Coventry City, so will be lucky to get more than 1m

Contact runs out June nxt year...... unless he's a cov fan through and through he'll be gone.. shame because he will probably be the best player to hav ever come out our academy. Obviously that's just my opinion, but I see something in Christie that makes me believe we hav something special here!

Lets hope Regis is his agent ,got a couple of others to sign ,but if you were offerd a £2k week deal and prem offered you £8-10k,tough call

Or you learn your trade with a club where you will get in the team most weeks, playing for the team that is your team, knowing you will earn lots in the future.

Sounds beautiful but sadly it rarely happens... the days of mat le tissier seem to be gone..

I don't think it will be up to the player, sisu have shown from the conor Thomas situation last season that they will do anything for a quick buck.

It's a shame because if goes to the premier league, he'll spend the next two years going out on loan to learn his trade.

I'd agree to an extent Astute but this is football with money sloshing around in that league above ,i'd hope he follows you're assertion ,but he is showing true promise ,phisically he's probably made the step up in a more convincing way than Geal,he's definately showing more promise than Jordan, nathan,we all aware of geals loyalty ,but if cyrus is truely ambitious ,who knows ,i hope like you he chooses us.we raised this issue at the start of the season ,so discussion s must be going on ,if he is being scouted he's in a strong position and its up to the club to offer good terms.

Why can't we demand a clause in his sale contract that if he goes out on loan anytime we get first chance at him for 50% of his contract wage plus the usual 20% sell on fee of course?

Lets take some faith in this takeover ,and hopefully see him rewarded adequately to keep him.

A paper that has been spot on with anything City related over the past few months.... A paper which a former vice chairman has close business links with.....

I cant seem to recall anything they have been spot on with.

They may have close links with Hoffman but as he isnt on the board I wouldnt think he would know who we may or not be seeling Christie to.

Lets not forget they own the telegraph whose finger isnt often on the pulse, so I still think its a paper not fit for wiping your arse on.

Far too early for him to be thinking about a move to the prem imo. If he goes I can see him falling off the face of the footballing world and re surfacing in a league 1 club 5 years down the line.

He'll end up being Callum Dacenport mark 2 if he goes. Look whats happened to his carerr since moving on (aside from the family dispute that finishted his career. Had that happened, where would he have been? Most likely back in the Championship with West Ham, which is where he could have been with us had he not moved on!

transfer speculation is fine, & it abounds thruoghout football,
the direct concern is, 'this mob' are parsimonious to the n'th degree of business stupidity, we CCFC (under their stewardship), should by now have signed & nurtured our 'starlets' on long contracts, with appropriate clauses, so as not to be a detriment to either the players or clubs aspirations,
after all if you were a young player, who had been treated well, would you not have a sence of loyalty ?
there will be some who seek fortune & fame, but they need to be guided by the club,
gold diggers can DO ONE,
however with splinters up their rectums, sisu, prevaricate,
the message is simple, 'don't go into a business you clearly do not understand',
what part of 'bad owners', or 'inept operators', do they find difficult,
i wonder how the business model of 'sisu' now stands, any investors ?
for all that, i remain,
always & forever, SKY BLUE,

PUSB

I have a major problem with any of our youth players being sold at the moment. Hopefully SISU won't be around for much longer. If they sell anyone they will want as much cash out of any deal they can get and not put any sell on clause as they will not benefit from one if they plan to be gone soon. Just take an extra couple of hundred thousands or so instead of 10 to 20% at a later date.

None of our players are Prem quality yet, just like Best wasn't when we sold him

Well that header should deter them a little bit...
