Like last season, when he came on last night he was very good, he looks like an improved player n all!

But let's cut to the chase...

I think we should give him a run out at CB against Burton, see how he fairs because I think he could do well there, that's where he played in the academy.

Yes, was a bit worried at first when he came on, lack of match fitness due to having been out so long injured etc., but think he did a decent job there. It works, when you play a right back at right back you know!

Also thought Jordan Willis did well there until he came off with cramp. Definitely one for the future.

Don't we have a few Centre Backs but no right backs? Doesn't make any sense to try to put him back there when we struggle for a right back?

Christie, imo, looks like he has got the attributes to play CB.

Rest the starting CBs, play Willis RB v Burton, may aswell.

He started at right wing, and then moved to right back. What makes you think he can play CB?

I think there's a case for playing him on the wing. Got pace to burn and attacks well.

Too much of a 50p-foot to be a winger at the moment for me. Too often lacks compusre when faced with playing a telling ball into the box. Which, alas, could be said for too many players at the club.

In fact, where do we get out boots from?!?

Does our academy only produce CM's and RB's lol I would say we have three really good young RB's in cristie clarke and willis.

He played there in the academy, he's quite tall, decent in the air, good at tackling, got pace. Bit like Keogh.

If you believe what FIFA says, he's one of the fastest defenders in Enland

I think he's be poor at CB. He's not good enough defensively to play there, and not good enough in the air.

I think RB is probably his best position. I prefer Clarke though.

Anyone else find it frustrating that we look to have 3 championship quality atleast RBs but we can only play one?

He's best at right back! He's our quickest player by a mile (I've seen him run the 100m)!

Prefer him on the right as he can run with the ball IMO

I though Willis was a CB but playing RB due to injuries?

Willis is a centre half.

Christie dives in too much to play centre half

I have always thought that Christie would be great as a wide midfielder, he has pace, can tackle and he did have a few assists last season from his crosses/forward play.
Combine him with Clarke and I think we would have a fearsome right flank, with height for headers and pace and attacking nous also.
This would give Clarke license to freely overlap knowing that Christie could cover and the same could be said for Willis and push Clarke into the rmf berth should one or other be injured or suspended.
We have plenty of options now at cb with Malaga,Wood,Edge, Brown and the returning Cameron so why waste an oportunity to utilise our players for the purpose of attacking, after all we have lacked service to the strikers for years now.
A vital addition to the squad is a left back to give similar options down that side which at the moment we haven't got.

Strange, he looks quite small. He didn't look at all phased at RB up against decent opposition.

He's a Centre back/Right back. Can play either. Although I think he is more suited as a full back due to his good touch.
Whoever said he was small, I think he's still 5ft11

I think we have one championship rb (Clarke) Christie isn't naturally a RB and as he gets older, and physically stronger (remember he is still just 19!) he will be a good centre half. The same can be said for Willis, but I'm sure he is younger again at like 17 maybe 18. What I will say is that Clarke is going to be our star man this season, he has pace to burn, fantastic ability/technique and seems to have a good understanding for the game, not to mention all the attributes of a great modern day full back, I'm expecting him to take the division by storm!
