He has also said 'we'll go with what we've got' new recruits won't be involved Saturday. I don't believe that, I think it is looking likely there will be 2 new defenders in the team.

He was Leeds scapegoat for sure and is available on a free. Leeds took him from Utd a few seasons ago.
I'd be happy with him, he's experienced first team football and played at a fair level... Maybe the drop in leagues and fresh start to rebuild his career with us be just the ticket!

League one centre half trying to play right back for us in the championship.

Probably be ok in league one to be fair

When he arrived in loan to Rotheram a few years ago they went a massive winning run because of his defensive performances.

As mentioned for some reason he was played as a right back even though he's a centre half.

Thought id throw my thoughts in on this.
Last season I was Opta's Rotherham analyst so got to see him play 7 full games, and a couple of times for Leeds as well.

He is painfully slow, fairly clumsy and error prone. At both Leeds and Rotherham he was made to play at right back which highlighted these faults as any winger in the Championship could run past him or turn him inside out.

However he is good in the air, strong and hasn't been given a chance playing centre back - which is where we would obviously play him.

He's a good age, has experience at a higher level, and could become a good CB in this division. I'm on the fence on this one, could be a good signing as long as we let him play centre back and don't switch to a back four with him at right back!

Give him a try...although you do wonder whether this signing is one in the mould of "we need to get bodies in, right now" rather than the much-vaunted "anyone we bring in has to be the sort of player we want" approach which has clearly not worked.
