I suggested this last week, it's very odd that he's not starting games as even without scoring he brings a lot to us and occupies multiple defenders.

The other thing to consider is extra time if it's a draw. Am I correct in saying that the tie has to be decided today?
5 subs and the possibility of extra time may have been in MRs mind when it comes to who starts the game.

Yeah thats true tbf, although he was fine in U23s games during previous comebacks and then tended to fuck it within 15 mins of first team action.

I believe the research shows that in a first team, stadium game you are more likely to get these injuries just because you are pushing your body that little bit further than you ever would in an empty field.

Yeah who knows the thinking there... I'd guess the management team are happy that if he can get back to playing 90 mins he will be an asset, so the aim this season would be to slowly reintroduce minutes until he gets there.

I know some have an agenda against Shippers, but seriously the negativity surrounding his selection is odd. He's not played a single minute in the league this season and so only the Northampton debacle in 8 months yet some are most cock in hand ready to wank if he makes a mistake. I'm sure he'll make a few, I'm sure they all will, but only some will be highlighted.

I'd have liked to see JJ too, but with 5 subs I'm sure he'll get longer today and bring carefully managed ohysically and mentally is the right call.

Ok, cue the Shippers fan boy comments, but imo he had to start today after no minutes and week after week on the bench. Hopefully a few will get behind him and support one of our players, who knows it may even help!

I mean, to hear comments about no transfers being made and then rolling out Shipperz in the starting 11 is pretty underwhelming.

Then again, we will support the boys and hope he plays well.

I think the point is he's not featured on the pitch in the league for a single second and yet starts this game when Jones has been tapping lightly on the door when called upon and is neglected

I'm sure we all hope everyone does well before a ball is kicked. I suppose the argument for JJ is that maybe he has more potential for a future at the club. Hopefully Shipley does well and puts himself in the shop window cos I don't see him being here in Feb.
