I have a board but not used it in years. I was rubbish anyway. It's just so noisy when it's mounted on the wall and I don't want to piss the neighbours off.
My mum once played Steve Beaton in the Cov Pub League.
I think the last time I played was in the Mercer's Arms...
(I actually scored my one and only 180 there too. And yes, it was a complete fluke, obviously).
I used to play reasonably well..... ie league standard, and won the odd pub cash competition.
Never managed a 170 check-out, although did do a 167. Hit tens of 180's but the closest i ever got to a 9-darter was 5 darts in (so not close at all.....!!)
Played on the odd occasion (mostly in practice) against some younger lads who were making their way up to the professional ranks, and they were just so consistent.... i obviously had a reasonable level on a good day and could hang with them on the odd leg, but anything but near perfect play from myself, and they would just blow me away. Ruthless.
Something you really need to keep playing regularly. I haven't played in anger for at least a decade and i'm absolutely shit now.
