Whatever anyone thinks of him as a politician I'd much rather go for a pint with Ed than Sunak, Starmer of Farage, even if it did end up in a late night yoga session.

[Grendel]

When Nigel Farage was in Clacton he announced to his audience that 50% of 18-35 year olds don’t know what D Day is, which is obviously bollocks. On an unrelated note

You don’t think any of those heros should be allowed the vote Tony as they are old geriatrics who are the past with nothing to offer the future.

Better than ending the night with Sunak laughing at homeless people, Starmer discussing the entire history of Deontology, or Farage pushing recently arrived migrants into the English Channel

[shmmeee]

So young people aren’t being stopped from voting Labour?

That was the openly stated intention. But like everything this lot try if anything it had the opposite effect.

Except I don’t. You keep adding your own context to things I say though if you think it makes you look clever. Your life is clearly so empty that you need a win even if it’s a win in name only. My gift to you.

He orders green tea at the pub apparently

Ignore my last post, that's unforgivable

Oh you didn’t say that over 75’s should not vote and have less worth than 16 year olds as they are the future?

Are you sure Tony? With respect I’d say the equivalent of an empty life is some guy who posts shite on non football topics on a football forum all day long - pretends the opinions are his when his copying and pasting all day long - and gets gratification from 4 or 5 other people on said forum which seems to make his life validated.

No one care’s Tony. You are ridiculous.

I don’t get it
He speaks over people
Doesn’t answer the questions asked
Argues
Confronts
Doesn’t listen
Is combative
Not all skills of a good communicator

Debating is supposed to be combative tbf, in his specific circumstances, Sunak has had to come out swinging to overturn big poll deficits against Truss and now, Starmer.

Personally, I think he ‘won’ the debate - a pyrrhic victory though. As you highlight, he comes across as dislikable and to add to that, whiny.

In my view, the public generally view him as entitled. When he doesn’t get his way he’s stroppy and borderline desperate.

I reckon Ed is more of a Tequila Rose man myself

Torch said it was to stop young people voting Labour. I really don’t see what the problem is with having to show some ID which proves eligibility to vote.

Considering you can apply for a provisional drivers license at 17. Most people ought to have a passport too.

I clicked through the voter’s ID thing and it took 3 minutes and found with one Google search. It’s not suppressing the vote.

[shmmeee]

Maybe the play “debating” they do at Oxbridge. Not actual debate if you want to be enlightened and actually test people’s ideas.

Oh I’m sure. I know what I said and it ain’t what you’re trying to say I said by a long shot.

You obviously care given how regularly you mention me by name and how eager you are to reply to my posts. I seem to have touched a raw nerve. Never mind. You can always block me if it bothers you that much. It’s not like you don’t have any other nemesis’. How many are you up to now? You collect them like possessions because that’s all you have. Empty little man.

They’d admitted that was the aim. You can stop defending them now.

People without ID are invariably the young and the poor. Why you think most people “ought” to have a passport I’m not sure.

Just filled in an election related survey that’s clearly come direct from CCHQ

YouGov then

[shmmeee]

Shut the thread down. This guy has figured it all out.

YouGov then

Genuinely worse than that. Every question asking if I agree with the idea that Labour will ‘let prisoners/teenagers/asylum seekers vote so they will win every election in the future’.

Was there a “don’t threaten me with a good time” option?

You don't touch a nerve Tony - I think you are hilarious. Its the SBT version of the Brittas Empire - you take yourself so seriously - its great entertainment

[Brighton Sky Blue]

Was there a “don’t threaten me with a good time” option?

There were a lot of questions asking if I preferred Sunak or Richard Tice which I assume means the same thing

[Grendel]

There’s a far stronger case for capping right to vote at 75 than there is for stopping 16 and 17 year olds having a vote. Not least because the law of averages says that at 76+ you’re unlikely to see that parliament out unlike a 16 or 17 year old . My eldest is going to narrowly miss out voting this time at a GE yet she’s more likely to feel the consequences of her grandparents vote than they are. I also doubt that her opinions have changed that much since she turned 16 either, for as long as I remember she has always said that she’ll only ever vote green.

So Tony does indeed believe there is a stronger case for allowing 16 years olds a vote than the D Day veterans.

Ahhh. That’s where I’ve seen you before, Colin Weatherby was clearly based on you. A sweaty little man with a red face and an inferiority complex.

Tony I and many others think you are comedy gold. You can make as many silly insults you like but you are just such easy bait. Its just light relief - your jokes and humour attempts are also very poor Tony. Lighten up.

I’ve got an A-level textbook of Rees-Mogg quotes on gerrymandering that might help here.

Why? What problem is it solving? The problem it creates is larger than the one it solves

Explain to me why an old person's bus pass is acceptable as ID at a polling station but a young person's bus pass isn't?

[Deleted member 5849]

Not everybody, of course, can afford to learn to drive or go on foreign holidays, so it's not a natural thing to have such ID...

If we must do it, may as well do Blair's ID cards and be given our ID by the state.

[Ashdown]

According to the polls and a lot of political speculators Nigel is on the march big time !!
Sunak aka Will off the inbetweeners and SIR Keir are not cutting the mustard with the working classes

So exactly like I said then. I never said that they shouldn’t have a vote. Not too bright are you.

Bringing up the Brittas Empire was your idea for a silly insult. Problem is there’s a character on it who’s your doppelgänger. So much so I can’t rule out it isn’t you.

My Dad took part in the D day landings (Queen's Own Cameron Highlander ) honestly I watched the ceremony today and got fairly emotional (only natural I guess) but the strangest thing I've seen today is the British paras who "replicated/re-enacted" their predecessors role in D Day having their passports checked on landing by French Police... world's gone fucking mad.

[skybluetony176]

Sunak has had to start the day apologising for leaving the D Day event early to do an interview with ITV. How is he so bad at this? Who on earth is advising him?
