I just don't get why just because the cost of gas goes through the roof they feel like it applies to all other forms of energy production /transport etcThis is mental to me. Spent £65bn on subsidising drivers.

With you here but not sure about the later , people like there own secure personal space , it's unfortunately not in the British psyche to act altruistically in unison, just about everyone feels they're above it and unique in their view and needsHmmmm, ish. Even with the freeze don’t we have one of the highest fuel tax around ?
The problem has been successive governments have used fuel duty, car tax etc as a general public sector spend pot rather than focussing its use on public transport infrastructure, which has only recently started to improve. Most people would happily use decent public transport but the options in most places is poor and/or expensive

It's almost as if tax doesn't actually fund anythingHmmmm, ish. Even with the freeze don’t we have one of the highest fuel tax around ?

Maybe if they made these pay tax NI wouldn’t have to go up.
Shell and BP paid zero tax on North Sea gas and oil for three years
Firms defend paying no corporation tax after government handed out billions to energy giantswww.theguardian.com
They’ve paid £44billion in dividends in a period when they’ve paid no corporate tax, had a petroleum revenue tax basically scrapped and claimed £400million in tax relief. Still, at least it reflects in energy bills… er wait, no it doesn’t. #levellingup
So you’re saying that Diana is no longer with us?The Express really is a joke. I can't imagine how thick you have to be to buy that paper and actually believe what's written in it.
