God knows how you've come to that conclusion.
The same police force who did everything it could to not investigate Johnson and the Tories? The same force who wouldn't release details of who'd been fined in case it 'influenced voters'? That's exactly the point - voters should have the information to make an informed decision about who they're voting for. Anf the same force who are now looking into Starmer with seemingly much less to go on than when they steadfastly refused to investigate Johnson? And your worry is that they're Labour!
When it comes to council elections the Labour candidates here knock on your door to insult you for not voting for them. Their sales pitch as candidates being ‘I’m a Corbynista’. For the general election, the sitting MP ignores his constituents. His party leader enjoys sneering and general smarminess.
Perhaps it isn’t always about demanding perfection from the party, just for the candidates and figureheads to not be pricks.

That's fair enough, but again, given the courts found the government unlawfully killed thousands of people and funneled billions of pounds into their own pockets, is a slight chuckle while saying the word Coventry really not worth voting Labour for?
Best keep the Tories, a Labour candidate gave me a funny look. This is exactly what I mean. And people complain about those who choose Boris cos he’s a laugh this is the other side of the same coin.
She's an absolute embarrassment. Worse than the fawning Dorries who at least is (officially) a tory.

Just for balance.
It's a modern day Greek tragedy all round, to be honest with everyone.
That’s seriously embarrassing. Just highlights how ill-prepared these candidates are for discussion on the doorstep and feeds into BSB’s point. Of course it’s a ‘gotcha’ scenario but think of it as a platform that could actually elevate your stance and profile. Far too many Labour councillors that I’ve encountered lack the necessary people skills for the job.

I have to say, in my dealings with him I've found him very good. For the general election, the sitting MP ignores his constituents.

Several times over the years...team building events. Didn't do it in full lock down in 2020 though! Sep 2020 we sat in office garden socially distanced. How many people here at a work place have cracked open the beers had a Ruby then “got back to work”?

First week in April 2021 things started to relax schools went back after 2nd lockdown and council/public service offices started opening up.
This highlights context of Boris's relentless law breaking and Statmers one rule break.
That’s a bit OTT Clint/PVA. It’s not an inaccurate article..Tories done bad…on worse end of scale but probably not enough to get MPs to send in letters. Labour has done well but more to do and the Starmer police investigation has now muddied waters a bit with regard to partygate. Pretty much the same as the rough consensus on here
It was a work event.Wow you admit he broke the law
Yes Boris did break the law several times when we were restricted to our homes. Genuinely don't know facts about Starmer, but as you know country was starting to get back to normal at that time so a million times less serious if he broke a rule/guidance.Wow you admit he broke the law

Got several “left wing” people in this thread doing it. It’s not right wing media, both sides expect Labour to be perfect to be worth voting for.
Tories are the default and Labour have to be everything to everyone to be worth a shot.
I'm left-wing, without a doubt. At least these days.
(Technically I'm actually left of centre, but politics has shifted so far to the right these days that people think I believe in a five year plan for Tractors, comrade!)
Anyhow, there's no misinformation here. Starmer deserves to be properly investigated in the same way that Boris should be. If he's found to be innocent fair enough. Is there anything misleading about that?
A 500 seat humping and that's the headline.
Shame he's probably finished - another 6 months he could put a 30% ceiling on the Tories and ruin them
Would labour benefit from starmer standing down if he gets a fpn??Politics is in a very strange place.
The future of our government is in the hands of
- how 2 police forces apply the Covid laws
- how the tabloid hacks report and spin their decisions
- how much attention the electorate pay to the findings and tabloid spin
- how our politicians respond to all the above.
That's too many spinning plates for me to have any clue to how this will all play out.
I can't remember a time in which there was so little faith in our system being able to see us through.

While your grievances are well worth noting, I would say that the final sentence applies just as much to Tories. So why are they not held to the same standards? When it comes to council elections the Labour candidates here knock on your door to insult you for not voting for them. But if he didn't stand down you know he and the party would face much heavier criticism than Johnson, even though he's PM and his offences were worse and more numerous.I don't think so-nobody obvious to replace him. Though as crude as it sounds the party could do with a leader from outside London

Media is poisonous. Good honourable people don’t make it into the papers so we are not aware of them and everyone believers that they are all as bad as each other.Crazy times. I still have faith (blind) in the long term but both sides, left and right, have almost encouraged this by focusing more on populist issues/arguments in recent times rather than just getting on and doing a good job for the country, whether that’s in office or in opposition
I’m a simple man and just want good, credible policies and decent quality MPs to deliver them…surely that’s not too much to ask ?!
I haven’t seen much from either in recent years….bit depressing really…but times change so hopefully things will get better
It’s just awful but humans are so malleable. My lads paper round is 90% daily mail. It’s like injecting lie serum into a whole communityso the big gotcha is they planned a break time
even really thick people people like grenners must see how desperate this is
