Would expect Truss to pass by the wayside eventually.
Seems to be displaying a huge level of arrogance in her approach to this.

Hopefully Suella, Kemi or Rishi. Had the first female in Lady Thatcher and they'd be missing a trick not to tie up blocks of BAME votes.

It’s strange how badly Hunt polls both with members and the normal world yet you’re not the first person to mention there’s support for him out there. I always think he comes across as pretty credible when I hear him. Maybe a bit dull but I don’t mind that

It might be because his tenure as health secretary left the NHS disastrously ill prepared for the pandemic that killed many thousands of people

Let them have devolution in an area Conservatives will never do well and need
less seats for an over all majority. In fact enjoy a Conservative government for the next 20 years if the Union breaks.

None of the options are great. Mordaunt was hopeless when she was my MP, the fact she's even considered an option shows how poor the options are.

Do you think the country will forgive the Conservative and Unionist Party for breaking up the union? Also worth noting that Tory success in Scotland also kept Corbyn out of power so there’s also that to consider.

It’s terrible, I’m starting to think she’s the best hope for the country. Of those with an actual chance of winning. Truss would make us possibly an even bigger laughing stock than we currently are and Sunak… jeez, just the thought of Sunak sends shivers down my spine.

I think that’s very naive. A massive percentage of people in England are either directly from or descendants of Scotland and Northern Ireland and most definitely give a shit.

im a descendant from Ireland and no I don’t give a shit. Scotland will press for a vote regardless and they will stay - Ireland is a worthless basket case I’d rather the south pick up the tab but actually even they aren’t that stupid anyway

But you wouldn’t vote Tory anyway so what’s your point? The agreement allows a referendum and that was the Mowlam
Surrender deal - live with it

No wonder Mordaunt doesn’t want an election, there’s every chance she’d lose her seat!

As you know I was a regular Tory voter until it became a cult. Many of my family are also including my Enniskillen born mother who of late has pinched her nose and continued voting Tory. She’s wavering now, she actually voted Tory since arriving in England just over 50 years ago because they’ve always been considered friends of Northern Ireland Protestants and friends of Ulster. I would say she’s pretty typical of NI Protestants living in the UK, she was brought up with a unionist mind set and a party who has unionist in their name is always appealing to that mindset.

Fucking surrender deal. You’re supposed to be a grown man.

Not sure that many in England would care if both Scotland and the north of Ireland left.

So we have the proud patriotic right on here saying they wouldn't give a stuff if the Union broke apart on their watch. Quite an admission considering it would actually make all of us worse off-good luck selling UK plc with the flag changed and a huge chunk of the territory lopped off.

I’d like to keep Scotland, what with my heritage, but honestly feel NI should be Irish.

Unless Scotland get into the EU and I can get a passport

Why? I'm about as irish as I am French. There's water in between and economically it's a pain in the arse. Most of them feel the same way I'd guess.

I could pretend to care for a few likes, but a bit like climate change I'm less than concerned and can't really affect it so won't waste energy worrying about it. Who's not loving a bit of sun this week? Or move to Scotland whilst you still can

I was more on about Scotland to be honest. Which is fine if you’re cool with the British state coming to an end it just surprises me given the boasts of patriotism we’ve had from the right for most of recorded history
