False equivalence is a curse. Anyone can be called a hypocrite as a result -I don't think cancel culture exists, its something the right/far right have made up to stoke their culture wars.
This is just tory cunts in the bbc trying to squash dissent and anyone shining a light on their nonsense.
Just last night Fiona Bruce was excusing domestic abuse to defend the Tories.
Then Lineker gets sacked for criticising them.
Impartiality my arse.
I'll also not use people like that for the comprisons for the reasons you say - their job is to be devil's advocate.JOB was talking about this earlier. I’d not seen QT but heard the clip and thought the reaction to Bruce was a bit OTT. All I heard was her trying to give context by quoting friends of Stanley Johnson as he wasn’t there to respond to the accusation himself. It’s what all presenters have to do in that type of situation. The language wasn’t ideal but people have taken it as her comments when she was trying to present what Johnson’s friends had said about the incident.
Fiona Bruce blasted after calling Stanley Johnson's domestic abuse 'one off'
It is alleged Stanley broke his wife's nose and left her in hospital.metro.co.uk
The fact Johnson has put his dad forward for a peerage is a disgrace and it sounds like he should’ve been jailed for the incident (absolute scumbag) but I just saw Bruce trying to do her job
Christ. I'm not going digging through Twitter for nonsense like you pal. But I bet its not too difficult. Can you name me 2 things that the left has cancelled?
Jeremy Corbyn (one for the youngsters). Can you name me 2 things that the left has cancelled?
It’s just another case of imported American bullshit.I don't think cancel culture exists, its something the right/far right have made up to stoke their culture wars.

The honest answer is I'm not interested in talking about cancel culture. I used a section of an office quote, you probably missed the reference, to try and point out the irony of a bunch of people who do love to talk about it (the likes of Brendan O'Neill, Hartley-Brewer, a lot of the Tory party) all of a sudden getting upset at the crisp muncher. You still aren't answering the question.
Why is it only now that you are interested in talking about cancel culture?

I wouldn’t personally describe Peter Tatchelll as far right myself
David Icke, Ian Holloway and Paul Alen to stand in
He's still wrong.
David Icke, Ian Holloway and Paul Alen to stand in
he was cancelled from speaking at a debate wasn’t he?
You said it didn’t exist.
The term I thought was around the fact that some debates cancel so silence a viewpoint in the discussion room?
im sure you have often said Kuensberg should have in the past censored for pro Tory bias havent you?
old etonians vs corinithian fc main gameMOTD in Latin
Haven't watched it regularly for years and would only actively do so if we were on it, at which point Shamima Begum could present it from an unmanned oil rig for all I care.I don’t actually care about MOTD…. Unless we got promoted of course!
That's not cancelled though is it?
And she wasn't censored, and nor was Andrew Neil, and nor was Alan Sugar.
The rules are, as they should be, completely different for BBC employees who are involved in the BBC's news operation. The rules for freelancers and hosts of entertainment shows seem to be a bit ambiguous, which is why Lineker has decided he should be able to say whatever he wants.im sure you have often said Kuensberg should have in the past censored for pro Tory bias havent you?
Lucky for him he didn't compare anything to the Holocaust then. But you wanted her to be? Also that is cancel culture this isn’t is it? If he worked for channel 4 don’t think this is an issue though I think making holocaust comparisons isn’t clever myself

ffs i'm on the same side as piers fucking morgan
Another example of a far right bigot giving an interview in Tory rag complaining about being silenced in a debate
If feminist Linda Bellos is seen as a risk, progressive politics has lost its way | Gender | The Guardian
Gender issues are now so fraught that we’re losing sight of what we have in common, says black feminist blogger and writer Claire Heuchanamp.theguardian.com
She's had an invitation to speak withdrawn. She hasn't been cancelled.
she talking about it in an interview in the Guardian. Hardly someone without a voice.
Gary hasn’t been cancelled either. He can say what he wants. His twitter account is still active
I’m sure a lot of people were demanding Jeremy Clarkson being sacked from his job recently or did I imagine that?
Lineker's been suspended for something he said on his own time, unrelated to his work. Clarkson sparked calls for him to be fired for stuff he did on the job - aside from the semantics over "cancel culture", and regardless of whether you agree with what happened to either of them, there's an obvious difference.Gary hasn’t been cancelled either. He can say what he wants. His twitter account is still active

speaking of himI've not said Lineker has been cancelled.
And when employed by the BBC Clarkson said about striking workers they should all be shot in front of their families, and didn't lose his job, so it's the hypocrisy and double standards that I'm criticising.
Sorry don't agree. He has a contract with the Corporation and has been seen as a face of the BBC for decades. He has a duty to uphold their values, regardless what kind of programme he is assoicated with. If you had a BBC cleaner spouting off political things on facebook they would hopefully face the same discipline. The rules are, as they should be, completely different for BBC employees who are involved in the BBC's news operation. The rules for freelancers and hosts of entertainment shows seem to be a bit ambiguous, which is why Lineker has decided he should be able to say whatever he wants.
