Does anyone care anymore? (1 Viewer)

I mean really?! I still go to the games and look out for team news etc, but the lethargy and inactivity from the board and the pitch have crept into my attitude! There's only so many times you can get angry, before you get used to throwing points away and selling any half decent players. It's just all very odd ain't it?!!!

Agree.

I greet every defeat now with a simple shrug of the shoulders.

We have got so low now it's like we are numb to the pain.

The board for the first time in a long long long time raised my optimism. With 9 signings and loanees promised.

Then they sacked the manager after three games and in my own personal opinion made us into a comedy club again.

My hopes were very damaged by the 5 following defeats.

However I like everything Robins seems to say. I rate it and my hopes are up again.

I just hope if we don't scrape into the play offs this season. That the board back Robins and I can have more hope again for next season.

My expectations are rock bottom, I go expecting to lose, not to be entertained and sitting in a empty stadium with next to no atmosphere, I know I will get a overpriced warm beer at half time, I know I will have idiots boing our own team, but it gets me away from the Mrs ! PUSB

I care more now than I did about 5 years ago when we would expect to be a mid-table champ side. This season is very important for the future of CCFC so in a word, YES. I do still care.

Even when we win i feel that said same lethargy that appears at defeats creep in.

I can't get excited about it. It's sad really :(

When we score ill give the typical pumping the arming into the air movement but my hearts just not in it!

It's because I always feel the minute we score, its game over for us rather than for the team we're playing.

I'm with Don too when i say i hope the board keep faith with Robin's for next season as im being realistic when i say we're here for at least another season after this one.

If they sack Robin's at the end of this season then there's no hope for this club whatsoever!

Yes, I care more than I ever have. The next couple of seasons are two of the most important in our history and will define the future of our club. This is our time.

Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.

I held a moment in my hand, brilliant as a star, fragile as a flower, a tiny sliver of one hour. I dripped it carelessly, Ah! I didn't know, I held opportunity.

I'm a season ticket holder but I've missed a few home games cos I've decided to meet friends or gone away for the weekend etc. I'll miss the next two home league games,am i bothered,no not really, these owners have sucked any enthusiasm i had left in me.

I do sort of feel embarrassed to tell locals that I support CCFC. Most are Southampton or Pompey fans so they don't have a lot to shout about either at the moment. But both are in a better league position than us.

They are only the most important seasons if you ignore our history. They can only be the most important if you ignore anything after that.

I would say season 2000/01 is the season that has had the most effect on us IN OUR HISTORY and it will be very difficult to top that in the next two years.

I stil ltravel to away games, but never go to home fixtures.....just far far too depressing.

I stopped truly caring the day I wandered away from Highfield Road for the last ever time, sun on my back with my beer buzz fading, having just beat Derby 6-2.....in an otherwise pointless fixture...

...As it says on my ticket stub from that match....."The End of an Era".

Yes I still care and I always will , however my caring is tempered now with the realism that comes with experience . I know that we will probably lose close to half our games even in the 3rd Division .

Like a couple of previous posters have said ........ after another defeat you just shrug your shoulders , get up and leave .

Also it gets you out of the House for a while !

Been supporting Cov since i was a little boy, always proud to tell people who i support even if it means a few digs coming my way.
I still go into a strop for the evening if we lose( happens a lot!) but a win lifts me for the whole night and makes me bearable.
Often seen round Brum with my Cov shirt on and have even been stopped a few times asking me whose shirt i was wearing(bloody cheek)
I love my team and always will through good times and the very bad.
Sky blue till i die.

I go to every home game and have a season ticket and will be there on Saturday for the FA Cup and for the JPT game. What's that got to do with it?

We are talking about people being numb to being beaten and dropping down the leagues and letting late goals in again and again.

The point is the pain has been so much we are numb to it. Not whether people go up or not.

I've gotten to that point midway through last season, I rarely listen to the games on the radio and won't put anything off anymore to go and watch us play, In fact i'd say I look for reasons not to go. I've got a season ticket and have been to maybe only 2 games this season & even then I wished I hadn't bothered going. Very much doubt I'll be going at all next season.

Something massive really needs to change to get that passion back.

I find it rather strange how anyone can go to games or even come on here and still say they don't care. There are plenty of things you can do instead of going to games. The web is a massive place to visit.

Yes I care. I will always care. I am proud of coming from Cov. I am proud of being a Cov supporter.

Like you am all of the above ... and like you I shrug my shoulders..season after season of inadequacy has taken its toll but... mine is as I am fast realising an act of denial.. a self defence mechanism I think... do I still get pissed off on a Saturday night after a defeat... am I moody and mean..?.sadly yes... and the way I read this sign for me is that I think it means that I must care, try hard as I do not to(or show it?).

I must admit I went to games purely out of habit but since August my enthusiasm has returned slightly.

Can quite put my finger on the reason.

maybe that's because F & W have signed a host of freebies,
plus a mgr who wants to win but there are vital cogs still missing from the machine,
as JS is now 'hands on' time to see what will happen

I'm ecstatic when we win and pissed off when we lose.
I genuinely hate going to games at the moment, but I still do and I still care.

I think we all need to care even mire than usual. This is a critical time for the club and need allmof our support. I do get the feeling at the moment however we need to ensure we get to the ricoh otherwise we will never get out of this hole.

I care more than ever. I feel every loss this year more than previous years think due to the teams beating us, brentford, tranmere and the likes.

I have a renewed faith with MR in charge and although results are not stellar there better.

17 years of season tickets with 3 of my family, and we all decided to pack it in this summer. I've been to two games this season, and while I miss it when we're at home, i'm always glad I didn't go when we lose.

Supporting City used to mean so much to me; now it's just an embarrassment. We, the fans have been bent over and f*cked by our previous board's mental decisions - and now we have crap owners who don't care about football - only their investment.

I still care, but nowhere near as much as I used to. It's the constant losing every Saturday and the lack of hope or pride shown by the club or it's players.

Totally agree - this is not the club I have supported since I was a boy. And then you get morons having a go for not having the same fire in the belly for a club that is just a shadow of its former self.

Unless SISU are going to inject multi millions, I cannot imagine regaining many of those who have left, and I definitely cannot imagine a new crop to warm to a side that struggles in league 1!

That leaves the rabid ultra loyals and the away fans - and how long can a club last with that!
