Whilst we are all entitled to our opinions and differing views, I have noticed that most posts seem to deviate from the original posting. I am also amazed that there are quite a few on here who post abusive comments to comments made by genuine posters. Not my job to moderate though, is it Nick ?
This actually, is hogwash.....You get "connected" to a club by going to see the team play not by wishing it was all different on a message board. My 10 year old needs a bit of coercion to come along at the moment but that is long term building his loyalty and habit. That is as important I think as any protesting or sitting at home NOPMing.
Besides, he will then feel the same amount of elation we loyal fans all will when finally the corner turns.

See the level of discourse?
Find me one post this guy has made in the last six months that is anything to do with Coventry City Football Club instead of derailing threads and insulting people. Even Grendel got a slap when his trolling got out of hand. But because he's in the clique, it's allowed. Andreas, Fernando and LordSummerisle are others that add virtually nothing to any thread other than snark. The last two are quite funny, so I suppose that's OK, but their aim is not discussion, as OSB's was in his OP, it's snark and trolling. They aim to derail productive conversation. Your aim as a mod and admin should be to encourage productive conversation.
And to address your point about freedom of speech: it seems if I post up anything about Les Reid or SISU it goes pretty quick, but slander against councillors is perfectly allowed. Maybe because they're a little less litigious. You even took down one of my posts linking to The Fappening FFS. You're very happy to remove content when you feel like it, so let's not pretend this is some kind of US style bastion of free speech.
1. I don't live in England 2. Cov are not shown on Sky often 3. i work match days 4. The word Wasps gets brought into every non match thread by you, Nick, or Torch. so it is hard to avoid a Wasps thread. 5. The reason I read match threads etc. is to know what is going on. - I can hardly rate people who I have not seen play every game
This actually, is hogwash.....
I went to my first game when I was 5 years old in 1978 against champions elect Nottingham Forest. Can still remember it vividly, the crowd, the pensioner cars, the vivid contrast of the sky blue of Cov, red of Forest, vast green of the pitch and the unmistakeable smell of bovril and cigar smoke. From that day, it felt like full initiation into the Cov fan fold. Previously, my Dad had only taken my 5 years older brother who was forever telling me stories of the great teams Cov had beat and players he had seen as he zealously indoctrinated me as a Sky Blue. I was hooked.
I went to several more games with my Dad and brother in the following 2-3 seasons until my Dad decided that football grounds were now too volatile a place to take his young lads, the increase in hooliganism making him think better of it.
It wasn't until 1986 that I returned. Post Heysel, hooliganism was on a downturn as well as the crowds being nothing like late 70's levels, so it was now safe enough to return. I attended regularly with a mate from school and we went on to witness the greatest season in the clubs history. been going (Northampton and of late exempt) since.
Throughout the period of non attendance though, my passion for the club never died. They were grim days, the early to mid 80's for a Cov fan, But I would always fight our corner in the school playground against any Liverpool/Man United plastic wanker. The 'connectivity' never went.
So, if your 10 year old don't wanna go, he's a different creature to me others on here and I dare say yourself too. The point I'm making is, this connectivity you refer too manifests itself in many different ways. Blind obliging attendance is not the only way to express care and concern for your club and it's not for you to pontificate on the measure of fan you are using this rationale to gauge it.
Oh, and bigger crowds doesn't necessarily equal better performances. They were playing a lot better at Sixfields results and fan accounts on here seem to indicate.....
It's Schmee who says if you do not post on football related issues you have another agenda. I suggest you take this up with him.
Do you want a medal?
I would suggest going to watch the club is a far better measure of concern for the club that not doing so.
Says the man who derailed a thread whilst having a w**k over a so called comedy programme..What was it again?....Big bo**ocks theory or something like that.Quoting has gone a bit mad on here this afternoon. This must be how skybluekid sees the World.

Well you would. There are several different takes on that, but do you want a medal? Seems like you think you deserve one.
I got one off Timmy for attending Sixfields. With oakleaves.

Didn't you admit to washing his car and giving him a blow job in Northampton?
Thing is, there are a lot of bellends on here who know exactly what the problem is with the manager, the club, the owners etc but appear never to actually go to a game. That really fucks me off. These are the people who whinged like fuck because there were long ticket queues for Gillingham then never came again. I will never understand that.
You live in the fucking Baltic or some shithole so you are excused though.
talking of bell ends, beat this . I queued for hours to get a Gillingham ticket and so pissed off was I by the time I got to the front of the queue I thought" bollocks to this, I may as well buy a season ticket." I'm a bell end.
The JR was damming almost to the point of calling SISU crooks, the appeal failed now they are trying for an oral appeal, or whatever the next legal liferaft is called. The Ricoh had gone, CCC have gone from having control what so ever in football club matters yet SISU are obsessed with a stadium they told anyone who would listen they did not want. Lawyers cost even more than footballers which could explain the lack of window activity.
SISU are now picking a fight with the new owners, worryingly they are from the same mold as SISU and might not take or put up with endless court cases and withheld rent. We might turn up at the Ricoh one Saturday and find it locked !
The original post was a very accurate summary of where the club is at.
Now there,s a thought. Can we assume that if SISU try any dodgy tricks with their new landlords they could find themselves locked out of the Ricoh? Oh the irony.
Seriously the most depressing thing for me is Sisu will do no more than keep the club on life support until they have exhausted all possible legal avenues because they have no interest in football or CCFC, they regard the club as no more than a lever to get to what they always wanted--assets,the cheaper the better
Martcov. Serious question. What did you have to eat?

I think this thread reinforced the point really didn't it. But thank you to posters like Otis, Paxman and others who understood the post and others who expressed their own valid view or opinion by discussing it
Just to be clear I am not saying CCC or other parties or indeed journalists should not be questioned and challenged - I never have said that quite the reverse is what I have always said. I am not saying that CCC do not have questions to answer, to my mind those questions are more fundamental than did Lucas mislead, lie, misdirect, or not say enough in public utterances in a PR war fought (and still fought) by two poorly performing financial entities. Lets face it what she actually said in the council chamber with her one vote wasn't actually minuted. One letter taken in isolation doesn't actually prove a point. But join up all we actually know, what has been proven and where does that take us? ....... probably with still only half the story. I am not saying that fans should not question all sides either but every thread turns into bashing one side or another or personal abuse and that feeds the growing sense of apathy. The blame game for what has gone on be it by CCC or SISU is futile in many ways (but both played significant parts) and I, like others, now try to stay away from any side of it.
What matters is where we (CCFC) are now, how we get out of it, and yes the future including do we actually have one.
Right now I can see a situation where by at the end of February we could be sitting in the drop zone after that run of matches. With the reduced squad we have, with the lack of quality and depth, 13 games left, low confidence, small crowds, etc it is going to be a very hard place to be or take and even harder to escape by season end.
Yes the team needs our love, but it should be the club not just the team shouldn't it? How is it possible to feel connected, to feel part of the solution, to feel proud, to give that love if the fans are kept at arms length, the real questions are not answered, the how is not explained other than lame blasé statements lacking cohesion and substance, the product provided lurches from poor to inept with the odd glimmer of class or there is no real evidence of the club owners fully supporting its team.
Right now I am far more worried about CCFC than CCC...... there appears to be a perfect storm gathering pushing us down or even on to the buffers.... I think the fans need proper explanation as to how we run to shelter. That's where I am going to focus, the rest (parts played by SISU/CCC etc) will come out in the inevitable expensive court cases that follow to arrive back at the same status quo
Your view may differ but that's where I stand at the moment
