Can we get a button for laughing at the laughing emoji?
He did say that while he wouldn't spend money willy nilly, if the right investment was out there, he could be persuaded to buy. That value is unlikely to be about in January.
Tbh I'm ok with a club living within its means as long as cash isn't taken out and we don't rack up interest etc. I also wasn't expecting much in January. There are two places to judge - after the summer, and when the accounts come out that allow us to see what a Doug King takeover really looks like.
Well they've been told to work on a budget of £0. Can't do anything with that.
That really hasn't been saidWell it would seem so, based on everything that's been said and done so far. Happy to wait till the end of the window.
the main difference it seems is the debt is restructured and so it’s now not the same pressure to sell this window
Considering our most valuable assets are apparently worthless after this transfer window, that’s surely of limited benefit to us?the main difference it seems is the debt is restructured and so it’s now not the same pressure to sell this window

You’ve said that yourself….They aren’t after this window
You’ve said that yourself….
From September:ive said they we will have to give them away for free?
They have to sell Gyokeres hamer and o hare by next summer or they will have no value at all
He will be here as long as it takes to agree a deal with MA/FG. My guess is at the end of the season. Vik will be sold and whatever we get for him will go to SISU/King and then they will sell the club. I have been convinced of this all along and nothing thus far has made me change my mind.Still makes no sense why he’s here.

Without meaning to take this too far into ‘He’s 28 until he’s 29’ territory, yes I think most people in September 2022 would take “next summer” to mean the summer of 2023….so by “next summer” means this coming summer then?

That’s interesting if true. I’m sure it will come out.Found out yesterday Doug is related to joy via marriage ( not to each other) don't know if it's been mentioned on this thread yet.

That if our most valuable assets have no value if not sold by the summer of 2023, it’s not exactly a huge boon for the club if all the new owners can do is prevent our best players from being sold in January. The point still stands to some extent even if we change your post to mean summer 2024 - we have to realise these gains at some point, and I don’t think it’s going to be via promotion.so unless we sell them in the summer the value goes down once you get into the next window of January 2024
What are you trying to say?

I never said it wasn’t a benefit at all…It clearly is a benefit as selling Gyokeres could lead to relegation which costs £7m in TV revenue alone

Well for a start we know he is interested in buying a football club having tried to buy Derby. Secondly he has just bought a stadium complex. Now tell me he is definitely not interested in buying us.If Big Mike wants the club he’s got the means to do it himself, and to use Michael Murray as a middle man rather than this obscure hedge fund manager. Ashley isn’t interested and it doesn’t help to cling to the idea that he is.

Indeed. The summer is the test of transfer policy, the accounts are test of how the club's actually being funded. The latest accounts won’t be released until next year
League table is also a good judge of where the club is at.He did say that while he wouldn't spend money willy nilly, if the right investment was out there, he could be persuaded to buy. That value is unlikely to be about in January.

Do you still not grasp how its different that 25m isn't going to get spent on players?League table is also a good judge of where the club is at.
Sisu came in and spent and possible with a better manager than Chris Coleman, we might have had greater success. As I've said on here already there was the £25m stadium bid, ie the king has access to cash, but all I'm hearing is excuses not a good window to buy in, the recruitment team have left for blackpool but 2 loans in and 2 loans out - we have 19 games to go, there needs to be significant additions or we could end up in a relegation battle.
Nick yes I understand that but it gave the impression that there was some money. £25m stadium bid followed by a policy of caution and its a tough transfer window. IMO the £25m was a bid for the sake of a bid with no substance and was rightly kicked back by the administrator money talks and bull$hit runs a marathon. So the King is in and what's different, a lot on here are giving him a free pass wait till the summer.Do you still not grasp how its different that 25m isn't going to get spent on players?

So he's got no significant intention to invest in this window, he's got a tough negotiation for future rent - we're all expecting a significant increase in rent. His purchase or rephrase ownership of the club makes no sense to me, fans can give him as many free passes as they want but a lack of net investment this window is evidence that he is just here to negotiate the sale of the club.
It was literally said if something comes along that's a good investment he will invest but not for the sake of it to make a statement.
Ashley isn’t interested and it doesn’t help to cling to the idea that he is.
That didn't work out too well for the previous ownerExactly, why buy the club with all the costs that are involved, just sit back and collect the money from the rent.
