The fact is we got lucky today - we didn't get out of our half in the second half, the subs were odd, Burge had a good game but his kicking was woeful and he seemed determined to be yellow carded.

It's only natural in a way. Eakin probably spoke to SP on a regular basis and familiarity often clouds judgement.
It's hard not to feel bad for someone who undoubtedly tried his best but was obviously struggling since the Worcester defeat. He'd (SP) become a bit of an underdog and human nature is often to champion a struggling underdog.
It seems to happen regularly, local press and reporters stuck up for Thorn after he went and stuck up for and various departing managers before that.

Not sure why you think we have the club we deserve because we have a moan (and many a joke) on here. We love the club and have had more than a little to put up with over a good few years. Venting our spleen offers a degree of self therapy (maybe even group therapy), and whilst I have no particular axe to grind with the CWR reporters, anybody with a decent set of ears must be able to hear the increased annoyance of Clive over the last month or two. It rises to the surface far too quickly during the phone ins (imho)and is bordering on the unprofessional. I would almost respect him more if I thought he was playing devil's advocate/reasoned argument, but his small flashes of temper belie this!! (first time I've written belie - had to check I'd spelt it correctly, as didn't want to come across as a moron)

Even Eakin himself commented that fellow reporters had noticed a change...and he was different today,..Just like Pressley sounded different after Sheffield....same words, but spoken different somehow.

Here is one for you that's our first home win since October 2014 and another fact is that it has come after changing the manager.
Maybe the fans Can quote facts also. SP had to go whether he was liked or not. I refer back to a poster (forget who) mentioned about nice friendly mechanics but then broke your car.
