Freddy Eastwood was today in the starting line up in the friendly against northampton.
The game finished 2-2 with jeffers and woody getting the city goal
Dunn (GK), Burge (GK), McPake, Eastwood,
McDonald, Wood, Jeffers, Wilson, Bigirimana, Ruffels,
Phillips, Willis, Daniels, Henderson, Richards

So thorn giving eastwood one last chance?

Makes sense to keep/get him fit if they want to off-load him. Nothing more than that I suspect.

There is nothing wrong in leaving the door ajar should a player want to take the opportunity to prove you wrong! And I'd happily have Freddy do that! However, if he does burst back onto the scene, there shouldn't be a big new contract waiting for him at the end of the season. You can't reward a few months of hard work after years of being mugged by the guy. Maybe a pay as you play. But we're not there yet... I'm dreaming!

And Brinner... I don't think we've seen enough of Cody to make that call... Yet! Jury is still out!

Cody was a boardroom signing ,Juke weill go the other way, little or no money changed hands ,Parkin was the same,no way would thorn have gone for him ,after all he would'nt suit the style we continually hear from the boardroom

Happy to see Wood playing and back on the score sheet. I think it's more a case no one will pay Freddies wages!

Hasn't Thorn been talking about Cody for a while? I could be wrong but I'm sure he was one of the names first dropped at the beginning of the summer?

He was linked in loan around July-August. Parkin wasn't an AT target though, no way.

That said he spends to much time in Mcdonald's. Thought he was off ?

I did'nt hear that Willie but thorn said he was no1 choice after he arrived ,Le fondre was higher on the list ,but it was reported somewhere the bid was around £100,000 ,suggesting to me little or no money bought Cody in ,He certainly has,nt persevered with him like he was one of his own ,which he has with others, however his last game he did seem anonymous, its only conjecture of course, but with all the smoke and mirrors. good to see wood +mcpake involved but ATs hinted he wants to re-unite keogh /cranie,i'd much rather cranie plays LB if theres to be a change

We need all hands on deck, and tbf, if i was Freddy and had been told to look elsewhere, yet no one was coming in for me, and i had atleast 7 months left on my contract, i wouldnt just be sitting back lettin my contract run down. I think tue article AT did will make Freddy see some reality, and hopefully give him the kick up the backside he needs. I think AT would be more than happy if Freddy could prove him wrong and get his fitness levels back up. I dont think it will happen, but its a possibility. Im sure our unique board, as theres no other board like it imo, would be happy if AT did have a change of heart!

I still honestly think that "he was first choice target" was just man-management speak to get Cody revved up. That it didn't work is because McDonald likes the burgers that bear his name even more than Freddy does! Where did you hear 100k? I thought it was 400k-the whole point being we could only afford him after Turner was sold (for significantly more than that, I might add). Indeed the Aron/Dann money should have paid for a striker, but this we know, it's old ground...

Anyway, sod Freddie-Jeffers scored, and that hasn't had a single comment! Isn't that more of interest to us than that fat lazy git who is history to us now?

Rightly said, jeffers had a good pre season and has pace about him.
The only problem is, is that if he's good enough why hasn't he had a run out yet, if gael christie and thomas can break into the squad why can't he...
Maybe thorn doesn't feel he's good enough for championship standards of football?

McPake tweeted me yesterday. Says he's back fully fit now so just needs game time.

As for Eastwood, I would love him to be fit and on form - as I would with McDonald. McDonald didn't have a full preseason though and I have more faith in him to come good.

That is a nice touch. Now AT, get him in the bleeding team now! Never mind this "Keogh and Cranie are our best pairing" tosh, we need a defender who can tackle, head and do the dirty work. I'm sure Jim is just as capable of passing it 5 yards to Sammy, who then passes it back, etc...

I'm a massive Freddy fan and i'd love him to prove Thorny wrong, it could have been all part of the mind games of AT to get Freddy fired up by giving him the ultimatum.

It could well be Rev, it's up to Freddie now.

The problem is, it's been up to Freddie on previous occasions and he didn't respond very well. I'd really like Freddie to get his act together, but I doubt he will.

Time for Freddy to go IMHO, had more than enough chances. NO other player has been given the amount of slack by the club AND fans that Freddy has enjoyed. I finally lost my patience with him when he came on as sub against Scunny last season and put less effort in them my Mrs' 15 year lad, which to be fair is quite and acheivement!:D
