After taking a bit of time to research Game Eight (8) Ltd, the company rumoured to be Hoffmans backers it was interesting to find the directors were Ken Bruce, Shane Maloney, Sam Allardyce & Peter McGuigan (director of Morecombe, ex-Umbro chief). Even more interesting was to see the shareholders were mostly chartered accountants from the firm Shipleys LLP, Howard Wilkinson & a certain Edmund Jordan...aka Eddie Jordan! This has to be better than SISU.
Hoffman denied that this was the reason for his backers withdrawing their offer.
He states that the lack of SISU discretion and integrity were the reasons, and that had a deal been reached, then they could've dealt with The Big Sam issue.
Eddie Jordan used to be a regular at Highfield Road, but i'm sure that he stated that he went to see Robbie Keane and Gary Breen as they were regulars with ROI at the time.
The Sam Allardyce thing doesn't matter. He wasn't connected with any club at the time Hoffman's backers were looking at a takeover. And if the takeover had been successful Allardyce would quite simply have to withdraw from being a company director. No drama on that score.
Maybe there should be a consortuim of famous Cov fans, the bloke from Corrie, Jon Gaunt, bloke from Westlife, and Malcolm from Malcom in the middle would do for a start, or Alistair Mcgowan could just do impressions of them all, and then have a one man consortium of famous names,
