So he wants the play-off positions to be extended so that Peterborough make the play-offs and that will ensure the integrity of the competition, sounds like he wouldn't know what integrity was if it bit him on the arseSurely not !!! he is all about the "integrity" of the competition and no self interest at all, trying to get his tinpot club promoted
Looking at both the weighted and unweighted tables, only Posh are the ones who lose out for a play-off place. Relegation remains unchanged.
Tranmere might kick up a fuss, but that leaves only 2 teams who would vote against the EFL proposal on Monday.
Posh and Tranmere.
Yes but you could do it in three games at neutral venues:Sort of, normal play offs are over 2 legs though aren't they
London Road will be free!!Yes but you could do it in three games at neutral venues:
3rd vs 6th
4th v 5th
Winner 1 vs Winner 2
So next season then if by miracle we're pushing autos you'll want us to blow up? Sorry I just cant understand this mentality. Yes the prem is overated but every fan of every club surely wants to see them play at the highest level? Also I guess your thinking of us in the prem being owned by these wankers. Who knows what would happen in the top flight with a new owner. Sisu certainly would be out of their depth as they would be in the championship.I'd give my right arm not be in the Prem. Losing every week. Success = avoiding relegation. Tedious. I have been pleasantly surprised by the League 1 standard.
Almost, but with 8 teamsYes but you could do it in three games at neutral venues:
3rd vs 6th
4th v 5th
Winner 1 vs Winner 2
Besides that, if we are awarded the title and rightly so... What a fucking great 3 years its been supporting city

You get a like from me just for not kicking off with.......Hi Rotherham fan here in peace. Please excuse the intrusion to your forum but would appreciate your comments. As a Rotherham United supporter of 54 years (and yes I know I could have been out of jail by now) I would appreciate your opinion.
Clearly every club is looking after itself but of the six teams Sunderland and Ipswich have nothing to gain at all. Fleetwood, Portsmouth, Oxford & Peterborough clearly have.
Whilst appreciating all the bluster given last night, the fact that league 2 have decided to finish puts more pressure on them.
It would be interesting to see if the party of 6 stay together on this, but with the carrot of a play off, I wonder what thoughts Fleetwood and Oxford have on this. The reason being, however ppg is decided be it weighted PPG or standard, they are in the play offs irrespective of which method is used. Potentially do they stick or twist? i.e accept play offs or risk a further 9 games and go for 2nd and run the risk of getting caught by Sunderland or others, not in the mix?
Weighted Ppg- ( favoured by League 2 this afternoon) means Portsmouth are out of the play offs
Standard ppg ( favoured by EFL) sees Posh miss out.
Wycombe would be guaranteed play offs either way.
Would appreciate your views but do you think some of the 6 will break ranks?

Interesting point made about Wycombe a game in hand being against City.
I find it interesting that the EFL has changed its stance from a weighted PPG solution to unweighted. Especially after Posh’s Chairman threatened legal action. After all, unweighted PPG takes Posh out of the playoffs, whereas weighted keeps them in.
Seems a Machiavellian move from the EFL, as it outmanoeuvres Posh by essentially splitting them from the other clubs who are in playoff contention. Or, if the EFL is being clever, forces P’boro to throw their weight behind weighted PPG so they don’t miss out.
Ironically, by insisting we play on because Posh can catch Rotherham for an automatic (playing lower teams at home etc) may have alienated the EFL.
That’s what the cynic in me thinks, maybe it’s a coincidence.
I suspect it didn't go to a vote and I bet they absolutely don't want a 12-11 vote (which would be 51%). Every club now knows where all the others sit, so they now go away and think. And hopefully the losers realise they have lost and tow the line, even if they shout and moan about it. As a poster noted, two teams are in the play offs regardless of method and are more likely to break ranks.
I don’t think it’s that deep - league 2 wanted it done that way and they just want it done - I doubt the no relegation clause in L2 will stand up
I thought L2 voted weighted PPG rather than unweighted?
Sincerely apologize if I gave people impression we would be champions on Wednesday, that would have been the case on wed/Thurs but league one has proved that sisu ain't the only dickhead owners, at the meeting minute I have personal problems to address and I'm sincerely sorry if lead people up wrong path, we will be champions just be patient take care xxx
I can't imagine weighted PPG has ever been mentioned by the EFL, didn't it only come about when Prem teams kicked up a fuss about having more home games left than away?
I've never really understood the weighted average, just because you've beaten Bolton, Tranmere and Southend at home doesn't mean you'll then go on to beat City Rotherham and Oxford if they were your remaining home games. To add genuine "weight" you'd have to include lots of factors such as form, strength of opponent faced/to face etc.
You gave the impression you were done with this thread, you should apologise for not sticking to by your wordSincerely apologize if I gave people impression we would be champions on Wednesday, that would have been the case on wed/Thurs but league one has proved that sisu ain't the only dickhead owners, at the meeting minute I have personal problems to address and I'm sincerely sorry if lead people up wrong path, we will be champions just be patient take care xxx

Indont see how that’s possible as the proposal hasn’t even been reviewed and approved yet. As I say I’m not sure the no relegation would be approved

Ok sweetie xxFuck off you virgin.
Sorry, not voted.
The reports suggest their ‘favoured’ outcome was weighted PPG with no relegation.
I just find it interested that the EFL later mentioned unweighted when The Athletic reported their favoured outcome was a weighted PPG outcome.

Haha fuck Barton the poisonous little twat. I'd be over the moon to be handed the title. Let's be honest we fucking deserve it. We're plainly the best team, and we've had to endure no end of shite in the last 2 decades.I see Joey Barton has chipped in, saying giving us the title instead of playing for it, it would be "meaningless"!! well it might be for you, Joeyboy, but for us?? absolutely PRICELESS and fuck who cares how we win it. No-mark club with the same for a manager
He’s gambled big on his strikers and ballsed up yet again. It’s like Groundhog Day for them. Maybe next season if he’s still in charge he’ll learn to build from the back instead of blowing his beans on strikers they can’t really afford every time. They get what they deserve in my opinion.Just listened to posh bloke - bla bla bla we want to play - and Tonis being sold as he wants championship football
I have never really been a fan of play offs, exciting yes but a team that did considerably worse over a season can get promoted. All this fuss over play off's people forget for years it was the top three. Play offs are there to generate income nothing elsePlayoffs should be played. It is wrong to promote a 3rd placed team. A mini tournament played at a neutral venue would lesson the health risk, so makes sense. 8 instead of 6? We need to look closely at the current table to draw conclusion. There is just one point separating 3rd and 8th. Oxford though would have a case for saying they would have been 2nd not Rotherham, with another game played. Rotherham's form over their last 5 games played is shockingly bad tbf. Sunderland are out of it, playing 36 games already. Posh and Wycombe have a case for being in there. Posh have the best goal difference than anyone, which suggest they are a better team than Wycombe. Weighted PPG looks less fair than just PPG. I think its a strong case that both Wycombe and Posh are in the playoffs. I think Rotherham should be in the playoffs with them. They are by no way safe in 2nd place. Oxford won their last five games and looked set to replace Rotherham. CCFC are far ahead in 1st with a game in hand, so no dispute there. If we are looking for sporting integrity the playoffs for League 1 should be:
Rotherham
Oxford
Portsmouth
Fleetwood
Peterborough
Wycombe
Why isn't this idiot banned yet? Nick? Mark82?Sincerely apologize if I gave people impression we would be champions on Wednesday, that would have been the case on wed/Thurs but league one has proved that sisu ain't the only dickhead owners, at the meeting minute I have personal problems to address and I'm sincerely sorry if lead people up wrong path, we will be champions just be patient take care xxx
