Sometimes, 'employment' is barely worth the paper it's written on.

Rather insulting comment. Most people take pride in their work and are proud of the fact that they don't sponge of others.

The lowest paid worker in the country should always be better off than someone on benefits.

Interesting. So you at least agree that immigration is no issue and that in fact we should open the borders further as we need a regular supply of workers.

I have always been in favour of sensible controlled imigration.

A comment that shows how little you understand about the employment rights and contracts given to some.

i think you have missed NW's point, he wasn't belittling those that work, more suggest that unemployment figures are massaged. E.g. the Zero hours contracts one example of that.

I agree with your second point though, it should pay to work.

As a proportion of income the UK taxation policy is one of the lowest

I know all about that. And the best way to solve that problem is to make the average worker valuable.

The bookmakers have now got Labour as favourites to lead a minority government but David Cameron as favourite to be the Prime Minister!

It'll be interesting to see how that works out?

Well I voted Green.

My pencil just wouldn't let me put a cross anywhere near Geoffrey Robinson's name.

The problem is though, many jobs pay a lot less than the potential benefits on offer.

It can't be right surely? How could they possibly have won more seats than last time with the state the country is in?

The country's fine. People are most concerned about the NHS and education and immigration. The Tories though only seem to keep banging on about the economy.

Foodbanks? Record poverty? Meh! Small potatoes.

If it comes through, they have enough seats to run a minority government, they only need to persuade another 10 pms to agree and vote for policies to get them through. It means there will be no Lib Dems to slightly hold them back.

Not totally switch over, just to agree to vote for a particular policy on an ad hoc basis. They'll offer them the chance of private members bills to get minor legislation changes through as a sweetners.
