Outside this year where Ukraine would have got 12 points from most countries voting if their song was three minutes of elbow farts, the political/neighbourly voting doesn't tend to influence the results to any great effect. We've done well now largely because we've ended years of considering it all beneath us and made an effort this time, it wasn't that people hated the UK so much as the shit songs and disdain we sent in.
