Aren't fans hit with a massive ban (if not lifetime) for racial abuse in the stands?
Luis Suarez apologises for snubbing Patrice Evra during handshake
Just need Kenny to apologise for his response now.
Embarrassing for a club of Liverpool's stature how they have handled the whole situation (and I despise Liverpool)
Luis Suarez apologises for snubbing Patrice Evra during handshake
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has apologised for not shaking hands with Manchester United defender Patrice Evra before Saturday's league match at Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan, who was banned for eight matches after racially abusing Evra during the league game between the sides at Anfield in October, had been expected to shake hands with the Frenchman, but failed to do so, causing an angry reaction from Evra.
A statement on the Liverpool official website read: "I have spoken with the manager [Kenny Dalglish] since the game at Old Trafford and I realise I got things wrong.
"I have not only let him down but also the club and what it stands for and I'm sorry. I made a mistake and I regret what happened.
"I should have shaken Patrice Evra's hand before the game and I want to apologise for my actions.
"I would like to put this whole issue behind me and concentrate on playing football."
Liverpool Managing Director Ian Ayre released a second statement .
It read: "We are extremely disappointed Luis Suarez did not shake hands with Patrice Evra before yesterday's game. The player had told us beforehand that he would, but then chose not to do so.
"He was wrong to mislead us and wrong not to offer his hand to Patrice Evra. He has not only let himself down but also Kenny Dalglish, his team-mates and the club. It has been made absolutely clear to Luis Suarez that his behaviour was not acceptable.
"Luis Suarez has now apologised for his actions which was the right thing to do. However, all of us have a duty to behave in a responsible manner and we hope that he now understands what is expected of anyone representing Liverpool Football Club."
Can't believe he had to apologise, fair play to Kenny and Liverpool for sticking by their player and not being afraid to challenge something which they thought was unjust and unfair.
Bloody hell.
He was found guilty of racial abuse. How can the club and/or manager publicly back someone who has been found guilty of racial abuse.
The whole episode has been disgracefully handled by LFC.
And Harry Redknapp was found innocent, despite overwhelming evidence of his guilt. This argument has been done to the death a thousand times over, but in the case of the handshake Suarez should be allowed to shake or not shake hands with whomever he wants, and considering evra almost cost him his job and got him branded as a racist, on very shaky evidence, I probably would have done the same in Suarez's position.
Suarez calls Evra a 'little negro' ten times and it's Evra's fault? Even if he meant it endearingly (i doubt), surely the subsequent realisation that it is perceived racist in this country Suarez should have thought "oh i didn't realise, i'm sorry i wouldn't have called you that if i'd have known what it meant over here."?
Can't believe he had to apologise, fair play to Kenny and Liverpool for sticking by their player and not being afraid to challenge something which they thought was unjust and unfair.
Your totally out of touch my friend....

It may be a term of endearment in Uruguay, but would he mean it enderaingly in an argument. Add that to the fact that 2 different language specialists said it was used abuslively. Also, where have you seen that Evra has been called "Negro/Negrito" by teammates? In his home country it is actually a term of endearment surely the FA are racist for not taking into account Suarez's culture? Plus why's it ok for Evras team mates to call him similar names but racist when Suarez does it?
Thought footballers were the role models to fans and esp kids?:thinking about:
With what? Your opinions? You views? Or everything, just because I don't share your opinion.
I may be absolutely wrong here ,and totally deplore racism in any sphere of life ,but with the rolling 24 hr news coverage we're subjected to ,especially ssn ,the inquests into this and all the dubious tackles etc are getting out of hand ,but it has afforded me probably twenty views on these shinnanigens ,and i got the impression immediately that Evra was very cute ,Suarez ,appears to keep his hand at the same level and distance from himself while moving along the line ,but i'm not entirely sure Evra does ,he appears to hold his low and slightly withdrawn, and Saurez is past him before he projects it,like I say i may be wrong Just my oppinion.
