You mean the fans that watch him every week? It’s as if the whole of the footballing profession doesn’t know what they’re talking about and the fans are the experts.
Yep those fansYou mean the fans that watch him every week?
Who chooses the team of the year?
Easy to dismiss the fans who see him every week rather than the L1 managers who have maybe seen him twice home and away. Lets not forget the expert football writers who’s opinion is based on an annual visit to the stadium of light once a year.Talk me through how it works adge? Does he just have a memorable face? Does he have good games against other teams so the managers write him down?
just confused

My uncle thought it was an April fools joke when he was voted league two keeper of the yearGo and have a look at the comments.
Sunderland fans are gobsmacked by this.
I think that just confirms my long held view that the standard of goalkeeping in L1 and L2 is dire. Wilson is League 1 level and actually pretty good for League 2, so it is unfortunate for him that he has been so repeatedly sidelined.Go and have a look at the comments.

The thing we have to remember is that any decent keeper in the lower divisions will be snapped up pretty quickly by Championship or Premier League teams as their number 2 or 3Fairly sure this is the one voted on by an independent panel/media.
There's far, far better goalkeepers in League 1 (Maxwell, Palmer, Pym etc.) but, at the time the votes were cast, I think back in February (which is mad considering how much of the season is still to go) Burge had most clean sheets in the league & a very high save % and Sunderland were absolutely flying so was an easy pick for some.
Didn’t Marosi win it last year?
Luke Steele now playing for Notts County, after spending much of the last year playing as a striker for random amateur or semi pro clubs.
Yes.
Didn’t Marosi win it last year?
No, it was Nathan Trott of AFC Wimbledon. We only had one player in team of the season, and that was Liam Walsh.

Wasn't that the Whoscored one as it's purely on stats?
Yes possibly, I think there are more than one.
I think Trott is now number 2 or 3 at West HamNo, it was Nathan Trott of AFC Wimbledon. We only had one player in team of the season, and that was Liam Walsh.
And then I’d be right all along.Looks like we might be in for 6 points next season.
Boro looking at Burge.
