Makes you wonder what might have been if he had stayed and developed with us.
So I am. That wasn’t the point I was making.Well we probably wouldn't have been able to afford players like Godden, Dabo, McFadzean etc, and we won the league so I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Makes you wonder what might have been if he had stayed and developed with us.
I was more thinking about how he might have developed with more game time. Jumping up a level when he did doesn’t seem to have done him any favours. It’s an interesting thought experiment! I’m under the impression that we wouldn’t have signed one of Walsh or COH that preseason and both were influential in our promotion.
I’d certainly have COH > Bayliss back then. But like Walsh, Bayliss has been injured/out of form for so long… they’re not really the same player as before.
I was optimistic about Bright returning and frankly, that was a disaster. Trusting nostalgia can be dangerous!
He's a much better player than Stevenson, although it's difficult to gauge what effect the last two years has had on him. What a terrible move for him. Hope he does manage to get his career back on track as he is a skillful player.League 2 awaits with Stevenson.
Yes think he’s staying in Italy , I’ve heard NapoliThink Ostigrad is up for grabs in the summer.
Had he 20 bags in the back of the vanJack Hickman just delivered my parcel from Sports Direct. Would have thought he's better than Hermes, but i suppose they drug test at Amazon.
He might be a strike partner for my Granny, she's good enough to play for Jamaica. She qualified because she once bought a rum and black at spoons!Missed this one, Jonson Clarke Harris called up by Jamaica

He'd have been in our reserves instead.Makes you wonder what might have been if he had stayed and developed with us.
Just saw something saying JCS being linked with Leeds and PSV.
Yeah…”this week I’ll be linking him to clubs from the letters L to P, so next week it’s QPR and Utah Jazz”!His agent is clearly in overdrive then.
He's unlikely to come back to usJust saw something saying JCS being linked with Leeds and PSV.
He's unlikely to come back to us
I believe we were hoping for a deal
Yeah I’m a big fan of JCS, but his injury record is terrible and we just can’t afford to have players who only make 50% of the games.
Not sure it's the end of the world personally. He was a good when fit but his fitness record is pretty poor over the course of his career. One of those where if he comes then good but if not, I'm confident we will be able to find others.
Agree with this. Great when fit, but we can't risk investing big money (wages) on someone who is almost guaranteed to break down twice a season (based on his history)
Fair, but at the same time on our budget we need to try and find players who are a bit of a bargain, so we likely have to take a risk somewhere. In an ideal world we’d probably have a squad of 20 players who never get injured and can play in two or three positions.
We held on to JJ long enough, and 50% of games would be a huge improvement from him!Yeah I’m a big fan of JCS, but his injury record is terrible and we just can’t afford to have players who only make 50% of the games.

That’s interesting. My Newport supporting mate has previously said he was good for them…as was Pask.Ryan Haynes not on newports retained list

I watched them play Mallorca in the wretched Segunda B playoffs about three years ago. It is so hard to get out of those divisions. Mallorca were losing 2-0 after the first leg of the (two leg) final. Came back to the island and did them 3-0 at home to get promoted. Deportivo have been in the abyss since, although they do have a shot at the playoffs again this year.
There is Numancia, Racing Santander, Murcia, Recrativo Huelva, Hercules, Cordoba - and that is just off the top of my head - lingering in the 3rd and 4th tier. So many conferences essentially and the quality is really poor. Barely conference standard I would say.
He ain’t done too bad still earning what will be a good living from football on loan at division one champions Wigan.I was more thinking about how he might have developed with more game time. Jumping up a level when he did doesn’t seem to have done him any favours.
Kastaneer gets relegated from the Dutch top flight with PEC Zwolle.
Clown.
Go on, where have I said he’s a terrible player? That can't be right. Sick Boy said Ostigard's a terrible player, and he lives in an asylum in Italy.
