Ok, so you're Andy Thorn and you've been given £5m to spend on players in this summer transfer window as miraculously all our cash flow problems have been sorted due to us being taken over by Roman Abramovic's mate. Who do you sign? This is with Gunnarsson and King signing new contracts and also assuming that as long as your bid for a player is successful, that the player will sign. Also, whatever money you recoup from player sales, will go into the transfer fund. Yes I am rather bored before you all ask!
"And an extremely Hypothetical answer"
If we were taken over, and Andy Thorn, had 5 million at his disposal, I would use it to re sign the impending prodigals.
Those who witnessed the Reading game, must agree that we looked short of nothing at all, its a pity the season ended when it did, because this re born Sky Blue outfit, looked as good as any team visiting the Ricoh this season, but losing the three players that are out of contract, will be, or would be, a major blow to our prospects "going foreward".
Its been commented, "That we can easy replace them, I think not, especially King and Westwood.
We may be able to fill the shirts, but hypothetically not the boots.
no doubt we will survive, of cause we will, and my concerns, may be blown away, by the end of August.
Cant be arsed to work out the maths, but if we had a few quid id like to see one of either Earnshaw or Phillips come in, Danny Fox return (pretty much gave a come and get me plea last year to Cov) and Akos Buzasky sign. Also Jobi Mcanuff if Reading wernet to get promoted or did but signed someone better.
I havent really seen much of Murphy but people seem happy at the prospect so my team for next season would line up ;

Couldn't agree more. Westwood's going to be harder to replace than people think. Murphy's decent but not a patch on Westy. That's why Westwood will be Irelands number 1 in a year and Murphy will still be number 3.
I'd go down to the casino and put it all on red, although I think that was the foundation stone of `Operation Premiership`!
Spend it all on Lee Hughes, that should work.:facepalm:
