He's just collapsed during the Spurs vs Bolton game. Stretched off, looks like he's suffered a heart attack.

Players are off the pitch and play has been suspended.

Let's hope he's okay.

Heart attack at 23 for anyone in any profession is just such a shock.

I hope he pulls through and gets well soon.

Seems to be quite a common occurrence -Foe, Fadiga, Clarke, Matt Gadsby.

Doesn't look good to me. If he stopped breathing for 10 mins as has been said then he has starved his brain of oxygen for far too long.

Looks quite bleak. Even if he survives who knows what damage may have been done.

no he couldnt breath by himself thats why they had an oxygen tanks and mouth to mouth they gave him oxygen.

Well if they did mouth to mouth straight away and got the oxygen to him quickly then that is a good sign.

Let's all cross our fingers for the lad.

Yeah they were straight in with CPR and oxygen and all that jazz, apparently other than actually being in an ER, there isn't really anywhere else where you could get that kind of care given to you within seconds, so in some weird fucked up way, it's lucky it happened there rather than in his sleep in the hotel or whatever.

Honestly it actually surprised me a little just how fast everyone reacted, it was literally seconds, there was no "oh I wonder what just happened there" they just KNEW, the players just stopped and all the medical staff were on the pitch and helping him and by the sounds of it they did a great job. There was also a cardiologist in the crowd who ran onto the pitch to try and help out too. This guy. In another weird fucked up "lucky" way, White Hart Lane is minutes away from the London Chest Hospital, one of the best hospitals in the world he could have ended up at.

The players reaction said a lot too, it really is one of those things that puts things into perspective, I'm not even remotely religious but seeing van der Vaart stood there praying touched me in a way, any animosity or competitiveness just dropped away entirely.

Lets just hope he pulls through OK, 23 is no age at all really :(.

Only just seen this on the news. Very sad and hard to take in. 23 certainly is no age and we can only hope for a full recovery for the guy.
