My guess is the ticket exchange will be stadium wide but the revoking of tickets will be family zone specificWhat makes you think its not going to be stadium wide? I read 'possible to use the new Ticket Exchange system for fixtures with the full details confirmed during the summer' as there will be a ticket exchange available to everyone not just the family zone
Again, how is it an exchange? My guess is the ticket exchange will be stadium wide but the revoking of tickets will be family zone specific
Is an exchange where you receive nothing in return still an exchange?Again, how is it an exchange?
If I've got a season ticket in block 22, I can't go. I say to the club "I can't go". They resell my ticket?
As stated earlier, I'd happily give my ticket up for free.Is an exchange where you receive nothing in return still an exchange?
We'll have Alan Browne then though, 32k sell out to see us finally beat themAs stated earlier, I'd happily give my ticket up for free.
Unfortunately, given we are playing Preston on a wet Wednesday in November, there won't be many takers I'd hazard a guess.
Quite right too.The adult ticket should be same price as standard ticketBangs of being done to stop people buying an adult and kids ticket as it was cheaper than a standard adult ticket.
Again, how is it an exchange?

Yea, it's a bit daft. I think they will give you something IF the ticket is resold.Again, how is it an exchange?

Not surprised. Even for the 'sold out' games against Wednesday, Swansea, Leicester and Leeds, there were empty seats everywhere in that section, far more so than other parts of the ground. None of those games were on a school night. Clearly a lot of abuse of the pricing.
There is no reason for an adult ticket in the family zone to be cheaper than an adult ticket in the standard zones. This needed to be done. You can't have a third of the tickets unused every game when there was loads of complaints people couldn't get family zone tickets as they sold out so quickly.
Its pretty obvious that there's a significant number of people in there who bought season tickets there because they were cheap with little intention of taking kids on a regular basis. The alternative was making prices in the family zone the same as the rest of the ground and I'm sure people would kick off at that.
I guess the argument would be is it fair for people who have a high chance of not taking their kids to over 50% of games have access to reduced prices when that area is sold out. This season has generally been regarded as terrible for game scheduling yet by my very rough calculation (so probably wrong!) there's still only 8 season ticket games that were on school nights so not really sure the 'can't attend on school nights' argument really holds up.
They will need to make sure people aren't scanning tickets of people who aren't attending which shouldn't be too tricky but needs manpower.

Last seasonIs that the case? I’d completely forgot.
I can't really get my head around why Doug is doing this to be honest the more that I think about it. Lots of potential holes in the plan.
Is it to be able to get more money by re-selling tickets now that the new Sky+ deal is in place and kids are potentially going to miss more games? If so, why only the family stand and not stadium wide?
Is it just an aesthetics issue, so that the ground looks full? If so, start with moving the camera onto the main stand so that the empty corporate seats aren't visible before looking elsewhere.
It almost seems that the big reason for a lot of the empty seats, the evening kick offs, is being largely ignored and heads are being buried in the sand. Sure, there will be people who exploited the prices this season and bought tickets and have just gone and sat elsewhere, but surely the evening kick offs are the big issue here, which are likely to just get worse anyway.
One way to stop the people who are exploiting the cost part is just to have an adult and child together at the same price as a standard adult season ticket elsewhere in the stadium so that there is no benefit to anyone without a child buying in the family zone.
Not a very good oneIs an exchange where you receive nothing in return still an exchange?
Just simply because in the press release, Doug says "We understand that fans may not be able to attend every game, which is why we are introducing participation requirements and the ticket exchange for this zone..."What makes you think its not going to be stadium wide? I read 'possible to use the new Ticket Exchange system for fixtures with the full details confirmed during the summer' as there will be a ticket exchange available to everyone not just the family zone
I live 150 miles away, our son is 15 and still at school and plays football on Sunday. We have FZ STs and there are so many night games which neither of us can make so it looks as though we will have our STs revoked under the proposed rules or am I missing something ? Our son is relatively new to the Sky Blues and loves it - this is a great way to turn him away, isn't it ? I'm happy to pay for the STs even though we can't use them every week; not sure I really understand this. I'm happy to offer up our tickets if we can't make it but if I do this too often we lose our seats. Not every Sky Blue lives in Coventry
Because hes a c**t at times

Think most clubs don't allow ticket exchange unless its a sell out so maybe they'll start it with the family zone and then we've got the infrastructure ready to go if / when the rest of the ground sells outJust simply because in the press release, Doug says "We understand that fans may not be able to attend every game, which is why we are introducing participation requirements and the ticket exchange for this zone..."

Yes it is harsh but the solution to people taking the piss out of cheap adult tickets is to not have adult tickets more expensive than an adult and kid together. It's a bit harsh but it's what happens when so many people took the piss out of the cheap tickets offer in that area. Doug is trying to maximise revenue and that's fair enough.
You can also miss 2 games without it going on the exchange and put it on the exchange 10 times so in effect you're allowed to miss 12 games a season still. If you're doing that what's the point a ST?
You may consider yourself and your son to be dedicated supporters, but unfortunately the owners (and apparently some of our fans) would simply rather you didn’t have a season ticket at all.I live 150 miles away, our son is 15 and still at school and plays football on Sunday. This seems convoluted, difficult to police and open to being sidestepped bu scanning the ticket and pushing the turnstile. If anything it's potentially an incentive because if you do get something in exchange those buying meaningless kids tickets can now get something back for them for 9 games.
Badly thought out policy.
I'm not in favour of this whole thing at all, but if I was in your shoes then buying a ST which isn't in the Family Zone would be the best option.I live 150 miles away, our son is 15 and still at school and plays football on Sunday. I don't believe that because the FZ are cheap seats and focuses on family and kids. You may consider yourself and your son to be dedicated supporters, but unfortunately the owners (and apparently some of our fans) would simply rather you didn’t have a season ticket at all.
The best way to do it is to make an adult Season Ticket in the FZ the same price as elsewhere, keep the kids tickets cheap and police adults going in on kids tickets.
Let's face it, the stewards do fuck all about it.
They shouldn’t be cheaper for the adult. The uproar last season was about the increased price of children’s tickets in standard and premium zones, not the Increase in adult prices. The Family Zone pricing was, in my view, an overreaction which has had unintended consequences through abuse and fraud. The adult pricing in the FZ is not something to be praised- the child pricing is.Wasn't the reason they did the cheaper tickets in the JSB Zone because the adult prices elsewhere in the ground rose so highly last season?
I still think the family zone should be the affordable section of the ground. They were the cheapest season tickets in the division last season and that's something that should be praised.
