No.This will age me but I one saw Frankie Vaughan in Coventry town center ("Who the hell's Frankie Vaughan?", I hear you say).
He was appearing at the Hippodrome (as it was then) at the time.
I also used to see Basil Heatley, the runner going on training runs up and down Sewall Highway.
He won the marathon silver medal at the 1964 Toyko Olympics (behind Abebe Bikila).
But Gazolba lives over the pond. It can be forgiven just this once! No.
I hear you say 'Center?' Type in English man!
Well thats a first - its something i have manage to avoid in 58 years - that pic was taken at the Kevin Ash memorial meeting at Silverstone where he was giving Pillion rides on S1000R beemer - i met him again at Goodwood and was exactly the same approachable self and very friendly to biking general public - top blokeTroy! Lovely fella!
EDIT: This has reminded me of a life step. Was doing a bit goafering for Alstar in WSB when I was younger. We were sat in the hospitality unit when a group of fans walked up asking for photos and autographs. Troy stood up said “hold this” and dumped Kelisa (his baby daughter) into my arms. I must’ve sat there for well over an hour with her. That was the first time I ever changed a nappy!
Just this once then HH.But Gazolba lives over the pond. It can be forgiven just this once!
I might regret askingI was asked (many moons ago) to be a guest on "Central Weekend Live", the debate programme that went out from about 10pm - midnight on a Friday.
Years ago, I was sort of classed as an "expert" on the life and times of John Lennon. "CWL" were going to do a live link-up with a bloke that had written a book, defaming Lennon and Elvis among others. I was asked along to give my input. Myskow and Edwin Starr were there for that part of the show and John McVicar was there because they also had 3 or 4 so-called "hard-case" gang members on, talking about youth culture and such-like. He ran rings round them verbally!I might regret askingbut why did they ask you?
It was in the days of just 4 (maybe 5) channels! BBC1 & 2, ITV, C4 and maybe C5. Happy days!Ha Central Weekend, the days before Jeremy Kyle where that was the most "beef" you would get on the TV.

I know who you mean, Geoffrey Hughes. Played Onslow in 'Keeping up Appearances'. He was made High Sherriff of the island for a while, although gawd knows what his duties were! Never bumped into him, but often saw Kenneth Kendal (ex-BBC news reader). He had an art shop in Cowes. He used to belt around Cowes on a mobility scooter, not bothering who was in his way! He died a few years ago.did you never bump into the fella who played Eddie Yates and was in the Royle family on the Isle of Wight H?
I bumped into him over there, i think he lived there for a while before he died.

The Folly. Me and the missus were in there a couple of days ago.Geoffrey Hughes - that's him!
The comedian Stephen Frost lives there as well. I saw him in a pub I think was his local. Down a secluded country lane and situated right on a river which I think was an estuary. Cracking pub.
Yep, I usually 'translate' but that one slipped through. But Gazolba lives over the pond. It can be forgiven just this once!
