Well he should read his own accounts then. Last year £5 million turnover of which £1 million is transfer fees.
You can’t also fail to aid the f and b income at matches or club ship sales and hiring of the ground on non match days - add them together and it’s £1.5 million of income. There isn’t any other income other than grants, payments from the FA and prize money.
They lost £1.5m last year and £1.5m revenue would be removed on top with zero fans
It hasn't been reported that it will? It'll still be hugely damaging for most though nonetheless.
All reports have consistently said that worst case scenario would be the number of clubs folding could reach potentially reach double figures without a Premier League bailout.
It's a short term fix and perhaps kicking the can down the road, but if the EFL secured a bailout, this would at least provide clubs with time.
Yeah, I'm sure he doesn't know the exact ins and outs of his clubs finances...
Im quoting from page 19 of the company accounts
Gate receipts and other match day revenue is £1.5m
Transfer income (I assume a one off £1m)
Sponsorship £300k
The rest is largely league pool and coaching grants
So income on match days is in real terms closer to 40% without transfer income and the only other income they generate is actually sponsorship
Vintage Grendel in this thread. What’s experience in the actual role compared to ten minutes on google eh?

I’m sorry to hear that I’m going into work tomorrow for my first consultationThere's 1,000s in the industry who have lost their jobs because of those. I get your point in relation to Wasps but I was one who lost their job from the hospitality industry because of this and have seen many, many good people lose their jobs as well.
I’m sorry to hear that I’m going into work tomorrow for my first consultation
Glad to hear that.No worries. I've since set up my own business working with football clubs and their accommodation requirements and it's going ok so far with a couple of clubs on the books. Everything happens for a reason right?! I've just seen so many good friends who are great at their jobs, lose them in the last couple of months and it's hard to see.
Good luck tomorrow....like I said, everything happens for a reason so if the end result isn't what you want, don't panic, take stock and grab the bull by the horns.

Although I think the chairman is putting a positive spin on the situation and being a bit economical with the truth with no fans in you would probably see an increase in subscriptions to ifollow etc to offset slightly, but obv nowhere near making up what'd be lost in revenue.
Also, matchday costs would be reduced as less need for stewarding/policing etc and you wouldn't be employing the F&B staff or whatever or buying in the food etc to start with or paying for the electrics etc which run, but still would be a significant whole in revenues.

In fairness to G he's not posting a conspiracy theory, he's posting from the published accounts. Even if ticket income in the most recent year is still only a relatively small % of turnover, I'd bet a decent sum that the rest of it is for other activities that are or have been subject to restriction due to covid.
Yep I think there is evidence outside and such and distanced that risks are low and worthwhile. Many countries are opening up - if you believe there is no hope for a vaccine better kill all sports clubs I guess
Pretty sure if we came back this season with no fans the rent would be minimalSome might say this has been a master stroke by Sisu to starve Wasps another season with no rental income from us with the inevitable lack of supporters in stadiums this season.
It was more the battle of a man with Google vs a man who’s literal job it is to know this stuff. We all know accounts don’t tell the whole story but are created by accountants to tell a particular story.
If the CEO said something about his business I trust him to know more than internet randoms.

Exhibitions are on their arse too .
PWKH then I assume knows that CCFC were only 20% of the revenue of ACL and Anne “wash her face” Lucas was correct?
Lol I can see why you’ve risen to the dizzy heights of a data scientist as you approach 40
Grendel, I'm not sure there is any need at all to get personal towards him?
Whilst your opinions are often provocative (most of the time I believe on purpose) I'm not sure you need to snoop to such low levels to hit a low blow? Just because someone's career hasn't reached what you consider great heights doesn't mean what he does is anything not to be proud of surely?
Because football fans can’t be trusted to tow the line.
She's right about that. Government has slaughtered football throughout coronavirus. First it was the horseshit about footballers taking pay cuts, now not letting fans back in when it's outdoor and precautions have been put in place.
They already have at the trials successfully. Not talking full stadiums but enough to keep clubs alive.Because football fans can’t be trusted to tow the line.
Suspect their is a belief among those deciding which events can start bring back crowds that football fans can't be trusted to do as they are told.

Hopefully there will be many new fledgling outfits pick up the baton in around 6 months.Yeah, that's what I mean. Many colleagues who looked after exhibition type business in the hospitality world, now gone.
It's proper tragic stuff.
I went to my local to watch the game last night and was surprised how compliant the local rabble were, several of whom are match attendees in normal circumstances.
It's about class as usualFootball and football supporters being treated differently to the rest of society as usual.
488 at nuneaton for an FA cup game today - but not allowed any in a proper stadium
I must be out of date with the latest missives - I thought pubs weren't allowed to show football, for fear of singing or shouting?I went to my local to watch the game last night and was surprised how compliant the local rabble were, several of whom are match attendees in normal circumstances.
