Impossible to sum that up in a nut shell, but to try: the guy talks about how Wimbledon were in our position, what they did, his ideas and suggestions for Coventry. How they took control of the club, their protests and how they coped when moved to Selhurst.

Finalized by saying if Coventry fans are going to succeed, they all need to come together and stand together. Which I think is perfectly right. Sisu, CCC, AH etc are nothing we are CCFC, and we need to stand together as CCFC but we need leadership as they had at Wimbledon. Together we can get our club back, separately we are just arguing against ourselves.

Yes maybe we should think of setting up a Fans Trust so we could all sing off the same hymn sheet, pull in the same direction, have one voice. Oh hang on.............

Its too big a job for the Trust, they will only fuck it up. You need a Jimmy Hill type leader to take Shitsu on. Someone who is well respected and well known. Must be Coventry through and through.with a few quid ! :thinking about:

The only thing I find hard to take is that all the parties involved have inadvertantly driven a wedge between supporters. How big is that wedge?

I guess we all want the same thing...CCFC back in Cov.

I do not think the Sky Blue Trust should be the right vehicle organization to take that job on. I have absolutely NO opinion on the Trust, but I am aware they have wrinkled feathers. A new, different organization, whose express and primary mission would be to secure fan ownership, can be independently established if there is serious enough and broad interest. Just seems like a fresher start, and avoids any issues of the past..

If the trust are to unite the fans then they need someone better at the top..... A Jimmy Hill type figure who can unite the fans... it's not about taking on Sisu, taking on CCC, taking on Alan Higgs, its about joining the fans together, having 1 person at the top to get fans together, organise big protests, so people can see we are united and unhappy. Lets not bring politics of Sisu, CCC etc into it, lets get unity of CCFC fans under one roof and then create a trust type around that, at the minute the trust is 1 of about 5 groups all pulling different ways.

Incredibly inspiring interview.
35 minutes long.
Wimbledon fans just had suffered enough and said 'we'll build our club club.'
The chilling thing is it could happen very easily to us.
Some might say, it is already happening to us.
Our owners will do ANYTHING to make money.
I really wish the Trust here would be a bit more proactive.
They are too nice for my liking.
As I see it, Sisu will just drag it out in the hope of distressing businesses.
It's what they do.

Agreed but they did not take on a Hostile hedge fund! just look at the shit they have and are giving ACL/CCC Alan Higgs etc , do you really believe we could get the finance to fend off these bloody sharks?

I'm not at all suggesting we try and buy the club from these people and become a 3rd or 4th group into an ever ongoing argument. I'm suggesting that we the fans are the club, if we unite and say this is what we want, the owners of the club and ground will be very hard to argue against us.
If as a group of 10,000+ we say, we are Coventry City we want this or else, then we hold a very big trump card. No money needed, without all of us together there is no CCFC, there is no football at the Ricoh etc. Trouble is at the moment we have some going, some not, some buysing things, some not, some only going away, some not going at all....

Let's face it if Sillet or similar headed up a campaign for fan ownership Labovitch would be straight on the radio to say he's dangerous and shouldn't be trusted.

Then Nick would be on here "asking questions" and Grendel will have a funny name for him like John SellIt. Then before you know it anyone who doesn't agree hates the club and a thread is started suggesting a new group headed by someone with less "baggage". Rinse. Repeat.

It's weird - or perhaps not - that you seem totally unaware of others who do just what you accuse Nick and Grendel of. There are many on here who give Fisher and Co "amusing" names, who abuse and shout down anyone who disagrees with them, etc etc but you never mention it. Why is that?

Too many people with hugely entrenched positions. For my part, I have an opinion but I am first and foremost a City fan and have been for 50+ years.

I absolutely agree. However it drives me mad when someone says "so and so does this" while totally ignoring others that do the same just because they happen to be on their "side".

As well as the interview it is worth a listen just for the sounds from the Coventry City faithful at the last Highfield Road match and at various away matches over the last season. Put together very professionally by a sound artist who also did a project to capture the sounds from Highfield Rd before we left.

Having posted what is a really interesting interview with Ivor Hellor of AFC Wimbledon in which there are loads of really good insights, I cannot express how utterly depressing it is that within a couple of pages the thread has descended into the usual bickering. The repetitive and seemingly endless argument on here just does not reflect what I hear anywhere else. Leafleting, market stall, Monday at the Earlsdon Festival just leaves me ever more convinced that there are small but very noisy minorities at the extremes of the situation while the vast majority are very united in saying acl have questions to answer but sisu are primarily responsible for moving us to NTFC, we would be better off owning the Ricoh but sisu can't be trusted and are not good for CCFC. If people want to engage in reasoned discussion about what Ivor says, whether critical or whatever else, that's great but please don't disrespect him by turning this into nothing better than playground name calling.

Hey, let's not forget, the few hundred who look in on this site (on a busy day) and the even fewer who actually type comments down, are just a small percentage of the fan base. Some of the posters here might be regular and loud, but they are still a tiny minority.
The vast silent majority are steadfast in their objections to their club being hijacked and taken to Northampton. They've made their voice known by staying away from Sixfields and will continue to do so. You won't read them on here.
There is no great division between fans, a few spats and point scoring and people practicing their put downs. The vast majority just get on with it. United in their disdain for the people who have done this. They'll come back when the club comes back. Some reluctantly because it still might be Sisu controlling things.
The Ivor Hellor interview shows just how strong united fans are.

To pick up on what Ivor says, there wasn't a specific leader at AFC Wimbledon and the same goes for Pompey, Swansea etc. Can anyone (without googling!) name a single person from any of the supporters groups at other clubs who have gained some form of ownership? I doubt it, because what works is not having one high profile person but fans working together and pooling talent. But there also needs to be a clear and shared agenda. I firmly believe that kcic now reflects mainstream, majority opinion and the kcic view is certainly clearly set out for all to see. Other groups setting out their agenda equally clearly would be a very helpful way forward and create a properly shared view which just shouting 'fan unity' does not achieve. Just my random thoughts provoked by listening to the interview really

I think another issue is we pay so much attention to what is going on with our club and the discussions around it we know all about everyone disagreeing. You don't tend to hear that about other clubs as we don't pay that much attention to them and just get the bigger picture. Having lived through the Pompey takeover I can tell you they had as many, if not more, disagreements than we do and they still have them but they managed to get a group together who could just work past that and concentrate on the bigger picture.

No one outside of our supporters is looking at us thinking we aren't united or are all at each others throats.

The biggest reason why the supporters are split is that there isn't a single entity responsible for the mess. Give us a single target and we will pull together - but I'm afraid that means Sisu selling up or building their stadium.
