Is anybody able to check if the huge City Shirt they parade before kick off has a fire safety certificate?

Exactly!!! If they demand that our banners have a certificate, then make sure our banners have one! It's not difficult

They've also said that the content of banners would also need to be cleared in advance.

This, I imagine, would be the sticking point.

They have stated that they can not be offensive. It's fairly subjective that one as depends who is checking them. Personally if I was checking a SISU out banner then I wouldn't find it offensive. I would imagine the banner checker would be baited up beforehand like a bloodhound to get very "offended" by SISU out.
Maybe we could get past this by doing massive "SISU IN" banners. I think we'd all get the irony, I imagine they would to

OUT

One letter each on a flag one metre by one metre.
You can fold each individually for separate entry to the ground, in your pocket or whatever.......

Simples!

That is supposed to be in an upside down 'T', with the 'U' as a common letter. Just sit in line, over four rows with the top person holding the 'S' ,and so on., with the 'U' at the intersection at the bottom

Apologies for the poor formatting and having to explain.....

They have said they won't allow offensive language. There's a difference. I bet no officials or officers at the club or the Ricoh will object to banners with the simple sisu out text. As long as the banners live up to the fire and safety regulations and is cleared in advance.

All this fire safety certificate is bollocks. People used to bring flags to the ground all the time and no issue then from stewards. Only been a issue since they had SISU out on some.

Flags usually comes fire retardent.
Home made bed sheets doesn't ...

Flags and banners must meet the B1 standard ... flame and fire resistance

So an England flag with sisu out is fine or any other flag with sisu out on?

Most of those England flags that you can buy are 100% polyester, I suppose these are ok....?

Well there’s got to be a loophole somewhere?
The club insults our intelligence far too often.

Does this have a fire certificate? Buy one and just write SISU OUT on the back.

I doubt they would sell flags with no fire certificate!

The question is simple, does this rule cover all flags brought to the stadium home or away fans. If so, does the club check everyone entering the ground with a flag/banner to ensure they have the certificate and written permission. If that is case, every flag/banner that the Derby fans bought to the ground on Saturday must have had a certificate/permission. I some how doubt that, as how many fans were even aware of the ruling till Saturday. Let wait to Leeds come to the ground for example, they have shed load of flags and banners. I would suggest we try find out how many have permission from the club prior to entry, if its more that 10% I'll be amazed. I've no doubt the rule is there, but what I doubt is the enforcement of it if you are not showing anything controversial

maybe a few people who go together could buy some cheap white t-shirts or even paint it on themselves saying sisu out, and they can just stand up and try and get the cameras attention?

Mmm, do we honestly think the rush up the stairs to remove the banner was due to a concern of imminent human fireballs? Or do you think it was because there were some banners saying "SISU OUT"?

I took a cardboard one to the Nuneaton game (the very first SISU OUT banner?)..it was very flammable, but nobody asked me to remove it. Hoffman gave it the "thumbs up", so he obviously wasn't too worried about fire risks.

This has nothing to do with fire certificates - it's just an excuse.

Crowsnest's link to the offal (above) clearly says:

"The Club reserves the right to refuse to allow flags, surfers or banners to be displayed particularly if content is considered to be offensive, discriminatory, defamatory or inflammatory".

There is no point getting a banner made and providing the certificate as these tossers will just refuse it. Their excuse will be "it's likely to be inflammatory" i.e it'll get us all singing "We want SISU Out".

So the real question is this: How will this affect our protests?

It's not a good idea to carry on taking unauthorised banners to games - but something visual is certainly needed...

As they have yet to admit that it's the content they object to, keep taking banners! Even if they do remove them all, they can't stop people singing and chanting anyway.

When are these flags likely to be set alight? Unless people are goin to be having mini protests at half time when all the smokers vacate for a swift one (or two) where is the the flame goin to come from in a non smoking arena??

I too think its just an excuse and not a reason!

Again this says it will only be a banner if it is over 150cm x 150cm. Bring one in at 149cm x 149cm and there is nothing they can do. It is still a decent size, enough to be seen.

Clouting quoted in todays telegragh that the content was;nt the issue.Personally ithink ACl are the issue ,the have have had a low tolerance to city fans since movein ,that said they did spend ten to fifteen minutes with aguy in a suit trying to talk the lads to put the sky blue sisu out banner away ,not a defence of them.

Why don't we just save the banners for away days. I doubt the away stewards would care about a "SISU OUT" banner.

I watched the Derby match via a Sky TV stream. When the cameras turned to the lads displaying the banners the Desiree (common tater) said "I think we need to turn the cameras away from that. We don't want to be showing that sort of behaviour on peoples TV's!" and the shot immediately went back to the game. There was no bad behaviour or fighting, just the banner display! So, as for getting TV coverage, forget it. They don't want to know!

There's real dissatisfaction bubbling under here. Thats a demonstration banner against the owners. Frustrations are boiling over in certain parts of the ground, not scenes that we want to see.

The actual quote from sky tv while showing the sisu out banner.

To be one step ahead of these morons you have to be smart! Use a pocket projector. No flags no fuss. They wont be able to take it off you as its YOUR property.

They are around £80. if you go with your mates £10 each. Beam it on the back walls. just need some batteries!

http://www.projectorshop24.co.uk/aiptek-projector/aiptek-mobilecinema-d10/

They wont have a clue what to do as they have only thought of this flag crap!

Pretty sure they'd just take it away and let you know how to get it back afterwards.
